Bec crossed her arms. In truth, she really could not give less of a crap, but watching Robin go stir-crazy over the fact that “Wil needed to shave” was rather entertaining.
She kept quiet for the moment, hoping the lack of a “backup” would make Robin more infuriated.
Keehani: Response

Hopper: Dozens of scientific studies have proven, time and again over the centuries, that beards contain an unconscionable amount of dirt, bacteria, and pathogens. They’re dirtier than hands, they’re dirtier than dogs, Wil. That’s science.

Bec shrugged.
Iko: I mean, I can’t disagree. I have brothers.
Ukinix: Response
Hopper: And, and– if that somehow isn’t enough to convince you to stop growing that thing out, consider that most potential mates will be inclined to find a bushy beard like that more intimidating, signalling aggressive and more barbaric tendencies. Stubble is one thing, but this? ::Gesturing at his face:: This?
Bec looked away trying not to chuckle. Eventually the door chime sounded, pausing Robin’s argument, though it was made clear that she would not drop it.
Hopper: We’ll talk more about this later.
Ukinix: Response
The Bell that had “saved Wil from the argument” happened to be none other than Lieutenant Commander Jansen Orrey.
Orrey: Well I hope I am not walking into a war room.
Hopper: Not exactly. ::Biting her tongue to stop from asking Jansen to chime in as well:: But I’m sure we’d all be happy to change the subject for a while.
Somewhat. Again, it had been entertaining.
Robin went to grab herself a drink. In response to her gesture to the replicator, Bec raised a hand.
Iko: I’m right thanks.
Ukinix/Keehani: Response
Orrey passed a PADD that he’d had under his arm over to Robin. Bec looked between him and the PADD quizzically.
Orrey: I come as always with balance. Good and bad. Kaito ::nodding to Iko:: Is field medic certified. The situation with Char that he handled the way he did more than meets the criteria that I need to see. He will need some first aid scrubbing up but everyone could use that. Which brings me to my next point. Ikaia has passed his final exam. You have yourself a fine doctor on your hands. However…
Bec had nodded to the remark about Kaito, but by the end of what Orrey was saying she furrowed her brow.

Keehani: Response?
Orrey: ::smiling sadly:: That completes my contract, and therefore my time at Amity.
Hopper: Well you’ve certainly dotted your i’s and crossed your t’s, here, Doctor… I’d say this feels ‘sudden’, except I guess that we all knew this day would come. ::Tilting her head:: Nah, it still feels sudden.
Bec nodded.
Iko: You’ve certainly made your mark on the outpost.

Orrey: Response
Hopper: Well, I’m sure we’ll manage – but It’ll be a shame to lose you. You’ve been a steady hand, Jansen. In more ways than one. ::Smiling:: Thank you for jumping back in with us, and for helping Ikaia complete his MD – I know he’s been working hard at that. ::Chuckle:: Guess we can finally call Wil “Captain” and Ikaia “Doctor” without getting corrected by them all the time.
Bec eyed said new Captain as Robin returned to the replicator, feeling a new power that she couldn’t wait to use on the Indy-B bridge.

Hopper: So, what’s next then, for Jansen Orrey?

The truth was, the man had never really wanted to get back in the uniform. Duty had called. But he’d done his stint now. It was time for Orrey to go home.
Iko: That sounds nice.
Ukinix/Keehani/Orrey/Hopper: Response
Iko: I guess we gotta pick a new CMO now then, ay?

Iko: Also.
She looked between Robin, Wil and Keehani, remembering the discussion they’d been having before it had devolved into “ew facial hair”.
Iko: I suppose we should give Orrey something before he goes.
Ukinix/Keehani/Orrey/Hopper: Response
While everyone kept chatting, Bec produced three boxes that totally didn’t contain ribbons or anything and stacked them on top of each other in her hand. As she spoke she handed them to Orrey one by one.
Iko: An Explorer for venturing into underspace, a Peacekeeper for defending Amity, and a Good Conduct Ribbon for coming back to the Outpost and treating injuries during the Vaadwaur attacks.
