[Act 3] Second Secretary Aitas - Stubbornly Still Here

They were down one Wil Ukinix, but at least the Hovan stealth ships had been retrieved. How much that, atop everything else, would count with the Hovans remained to be seen.
The room they waited in hadn’t had much effort spared to separate it from a bunker, between the plain metal of the walls and a set of blinking consoles and displays to one side. Some of them pulsed blue, while others showed that same vibrant green she’d seen from the emergency controls in the bunker.
For her part, Aitas certainly didn’t look her best, with one arm roughly bound by torn cloth and dust from the damaged walls splattered across her clothes. She could still smell a faint touch of drying blood, smeared onto her sleeves. But she still had her badge and her brooch and that would suffice.
Aitas: How are the rescue efforts proceeding, Fleetmarshall?

She made that acknowledging hand gesture and considered the officer before her. From everything she’d heard he seemed unlikely to have a part in the theft, and may indeed have been an intended target for collateral damage. But there wasn’t enough to be sure of matters, not yet.
Aitas: We’re ready to pick the investigation back up. I had a few areas in mind with which to start; our initial information indicated inappropriate use of preexisting credentials, rather than a more brute-force intrusion. And of course there are the scout ships and their crew as well.
She glanced over to Rosek-Skyfire, whose expertise seemed particularly relevant for such technical matters.

Aitas: I can bring my bot ::she’d in truth picked a more technical term, the Hovans were more likely than most to have some small understanding of Eccian cybernetics:: down to assist as well, if you’d consider that prudent.
She let her hands rest open at her sides. She’d mentioned such connections to Chancellor Ril; if he’d neglected to pass the information on…well, she was simply raising a possibility.
