Taelon: It’s nice to meet you, Molly. I’m, um, Taelon. And this is my daughter, Cyri.
Cyri: Hello.
Molly: It is nice to meet you!
Aurelio: Taelon worked with my mom when she was in Starfleet. I was really little then.
Ukinix: Response
Taelon: That you were.
He’d started off as just a tiny baby, Taelon remembered. They grew up fast.
Molly: You must have come to Amity recently. Five months ago we had a trip to Idrustix. Madeline and Kadain Skyfire joined us too. ::to Aurelio:: were they invited?
Aurelio: Yeah! I think she might have been in another group?
Had Cyri been invited? Taelon looked down to her, uncertain. Cyri shifted uncomfortably for a moment, then shook her head.
Cyri: Oh, I didn’t - I got a message about it, but I didn’t go. Wasn’t sure we’d be…um, here long enough, so…
And Taelon had been busy with the station’s repairs and his sudden reassignment. He flushed a bit; but this was a happy occasion, and so he tried to smooth it over.
Taelon: That’s a shame, but I’m sure you’ll, um, have more chances in the future….?
Ukinix: Response
Molly: It's okay, I was just curious!
Ukinix: Response
Molly had arrived with a package, and she handed it to Aurelio.
Molly: This is for you.
Aurelio seemed to restrain himself from inspecting the package too eagerly. Taelon’s smile tweaked at that - while always a bit on edge the more people were around, Taelon liked children and found observing those little behaviors made him happy.
Aurelio: Oh, thank you!
Ukinix: Response
Molly: Happy birthday.
Aurelio: I was going to open all the presents in a bit, unless you can’t stay?
Aurelio set the present down and got more juice bottles, looking at the guests hopefully.
Cyri happily took another one and almost started to chug it - a Klingon sort of tradition she’d had to train herself to do…that she now needed to train herself out of. In the end she all but slammed it into her lips only to take a delicate sip. Taelon, who recognised the half-gesture, patted her on the head.
Cyri: Thanks..
Ukinix: Response
Aitas: We’re not going to run out of juice anytime soon. I had to fill out the cargo spot somehow.
Taelon: Well, Cyri and I aren’t going anywhere anytime soon, so…
The half-Klingon girl smirked for a second. Her braided buns were tied with yellow silk ribbons, which waved about as she shook her head.
Cyri: You’re stuck with us for a bit.
Ukinix/Molly: Response
Aurelio: I was showing off my plants! The ones out here are mom’s and she has managed not to kill them yet.
He eagerly pointed to the plants in question.
Aitas: ::smiling slightly:: Only due to Robin’s intervention, I’m afraid.
Taelon: You’re, um, ahead of me, then. I just installed an automated caretaker…
Ukinix/Molly: Response
Aurelio: I’ve got a few ships, too. I need another shelf for them.
Aitas: I suspect one will be in place soon enough.
He would need a new one, given the size of the model Taelon had built for him. Taelon tried - and, as usual, failed - to not overthink his choice in gift. Was it too big? Too cumbersome? He should have inspected the shelves, or asked Aitas, or -
Cyri cut off his worrying.
Cyri: Could always have them hover near the ceiling. I saw - some kids on the holonet have rooms like that. They seem nice.
Ukinixi/Molly/Aitas/Aurelio: Response
Cyri: Oh, um, it’s a show on the holonet. The Wild Starberries. About a family that travels the galaxy. It’s…um, it’s okay. They’re kind of weird.
Ukinixi/Molly/Aitas/Aurelio: Response
Taelon: Well! ::He clapped his hands together, the slap louder than he’d intended.:: Oh. Um. Should we let Aurelio see what he’s been gifted?
Ukinixi/Molly/Aitas/Aurelio: Response
