((Shi’kahr District, Amity Outpost))
Aitas leaned back, putting more weight on her sore leg. It was rather obvious bait, but then sometimes the point of training was to make things obvious. Easy to follow.
Aitas: You’ve been defending all this time. Show me how you’d attack.
Seleya: Very well. I won’t hurt you.
At that, Seleya took up an attack stance. Aitas could feel what might have been a touch of concern; but ultimately it was on her, not on Seleya, to prevent any notable injuries.
Aitas: It wouldn’t be training if there were no bruises.
While she had the advantages of strength, speed, and training, she’d long ago learned that flailing inexperience was not something to be taken lightly. And odds were ultimately just that.
Seleya moved in for a strike. Quickly so, given the constraints she was under. Aitas leaned back, putting a little more weight on her sore leg, but not so much as to strain it.
Then she kept her arms in position, and turned her body to make a smaller target as she blocked Seleya’s strike with one akai.
Seleya: Still doing ok? Just making sure I am not the reason you are put off duty again.
Aitas: If I thought I’d fall over that easily I’d not have agreed to sparring. ::a slight smile.:: I am in fact capable of suggesting less strenuous activities to do with friends.
Though the fact that Seleya had heard enough to be concerned was unfortunate.
Seleya: How about friends on the station? Any of your crewmates you are closer to than others?
Seleya returned to her attack stance, and Aitas reached out slowly with her akai, gesturing for a few more shifts in position. She wasn’t going to push the intelligence officer too hard.
Aitas: Oh, a few. I’ve been planning to run cocktail events on occasion. Invite some of the senior staff. Have you met Robin yet? Or Keehani?
They were both likely targets for whatever debriefing Seleya had undergone.
Seleya: Response
Aitas: And Jakarn is still here; I’ll admit I wasn’t sure he’d linger.
But Taelon had, and the Borg were at least driven back, for the moment. Aitas wasn’t sure how long the station’s nightlife, such as it was, would entertain Jakarn.
Though his ship was swift enough for more than a dart off to Idrustix if he wanted to.
Seleya: Response
Aitas: One more round of practicing your attacks, and then you can take a break. Perhaps I can tell you about the local bars.
Aitas took a single step back, moving into a different defensive position, one that left her a bit better-equipped to defend her legs.
