(OOC: will backsim the scene in the holodeck donut in a flashback, for those in the scene make sure you sim Wil leaving no matter what the outcome)

//First Officer’s lo-- ::scowl:: whatever. Some random Starfleet officer’s log supplemental.

Nathan Richards has ordered me down to shuttlebay 4, for reasons I don’t know. That wasn’t as easy as it sounds, I had to make my own way down, and crawl through maintenance tubes.

Sadly, The Hirogen have killed this place... and Peace Park is another huge holodeck! How many weird fetish holodeck programs did Ravarj have? //

Ukinix: Nath?

As Wil popped his head out of the darkness of the entry to Shuttlebay 4, it was clear then that Wil had lost his authority in 2442. Instead of saying “Commander”, he’d just said his friend’s name. His backwards career step gnawed at him somewhere at the back of his brain.

Richards: We are fixing this.

Wil looked over to Sam, with a puzzled look, then back to Nathan.

Ukinix: Fixing what?

Richards: It’s the Trenvonn. You need to make sure none of this ever happens.

Before Wil could say anything, Nathan had grabbed Wil by his 2442 uniform, dragging him towards the nearby transporter pad. He thought he could resist, but Nathan’s prosthetic arm - the one Wil was smacking to try and get Nathan to let go - had other ideas.

Ukinix: ::confused:: What are you doin! Sam, tell your brother to let go--

Richards: We can’t be saved.

Before Wil could protest further, the pad lit up. He felt the tug of a transporter beam dematerialising him

Richards: But you can.

Wil lifted his finger to ask *where exactly he was being beamed to*...

...but it was futile.

((Chief of Mission's Office, Amity Outpost - Stardate 240111.19))

Wherever Nathan had beamed Wil to, he hadn’t lined up the coordinates quite right.

He felt himself materialise in mid-air, almost a metre above the ground.

oO Oh ^%$%#-- Oo

And, of course, in the words of obscure Australian indie pop/rock music artist The Grates from Earth’s early 21st century, “Gravity Won’t Get You High”.

He very quickly became living proof as he fell to the ground with a *thud*.

Ukinix: OOF--

He went silent as the wind was knocked out of him, when his stomach collided with a hard object that was flat on top but rounded at its front.

That was the exact moment when his ankle, his bad ankle that he’d injured playing footy in his teens which had been precariously good for years, twisted underneath the weight of his leg, which was unfortunately underneath the weight of the majority of the rest of his body. The slight snapping sound he heard from his ankle can’t have been good.

It sent him even more off balance, if that was at all possible (which it turns out it was). His arm smashed against the strange flat yet ovular object, and once again he heard a sickening snap. The pain shot up his arm and into his shoulder like the Glacier using it’s fancy new and improved “Quesadilla” drive (that’s Wil colloquialism for a “QSD” for the uninitiated).

With eyes squinted shut, he slumped into the corner of wherever the hell he was. It took a second to accept the reality of what had just happened and the pain he was in...

Ukinix: ... ::annoyed:: ow-wwwwww. ::even more annoyed, sharply:: Nathan.

After a long inhale through a grimace, he felt his pulse just about bursting through his neck, and the pain in his ankle and arm throbbing. He had to move his leg out from under him to relieve some of the pain, he knew it, but he could only put weight on one arm.

He awkwardly reached behind him, and pressed himself up, grimacing in pain as his busted ankle slid out from under him.

That’s when he opened his eyes...

He was in a toilet. It was a fancy one, and it even looked like it was from the 2401 era of Amity.

Where had Nathan transported him to? Was it a secret toilet that the Hirogen had never found and therefore never refurbished? And for a fleeting second, he wondered-- oO what *do* Hirogen toilets look like? Oo

Pain pulsed through his arm and ankle again, as if scolding him for wondering about Hirogen toilets at a time like that. He rested his head back against the wall behind him, and wondered what in the bloody hell he was going to do next.

Nathan had said, “it’s the Trenvonn. You need to make sure none of this ever happens.”

What?

And then something about “We can’t be saved... but you can”.

oO So you’ll save me by beaming me into a *toilet* in mid-air? Oo

Maybe Nathan knew about him and Alexis, and this was his revenge--

Vataix: Wil!

Feeling sweat on his brow, and snapping out of his spiral of an injury dream of thoughts, his eyes darted to the armed security officers *pointing their bloody phasers at him*. And behind them, standing next to someone that appeared Vulcan-ish, were...

Ukinix: ::puzzled, sweating, panting:: Ambassador... Bec...?

Iko/Aitas: Response

Wil’s eyes went wide as Rivi shuffled forward, only to be stopped by one of the security officers stopping her from approaching him.

Vataix: It's fine. I know he's our Wil. Having spent time with... other iterations of this man, trust me, I know.

And it was Rivi. “His” Rivi. 2401 Rivi. And Bec was... alive?

He furrowed his eyebrows in abject bewilderment. Had he hit his head too?

Iko/Aitas: Response

Rivi crouched down to turn him over, and partially succeeded, which made him let out a short yelp in pain. oO Rivi, you’re a legend, but don’t touch me right now! Oo

Vataix: What are you doing here?

Now contorted in a weird position with his back to the group of people, he looked back over his shoulder, eyebrows still furrowed.

Ukinix: What the #@$% are *you* doin’ here?! Ow--

He grimaced and inhaled again, having turned over his shoulder too far. He clutched at his arm, and moved his leg slightly to release pressure from his ankle.

Iko/Aitas: Response

Wil’s thoughts went into an uncontrolled spiral again. His mind went back to a week earlier, suddenly finding himself standing in front of Robin Hopper, his good mate, who had aged and had grey hair. That’s when he’d discovered, nay told, that the Federation were at war with the Lattice Alliance, and he’d been brought forward in time - ironically, from an USS Independence toilet - to the future to help them obtain Hirogen tech to win the war.

Jansen, who was still the same Jansen, was old. And Nathan too was a senior, although he’d aged well the handsome devil - typical Nath. Ikaia and C’Cyra were pirates(!), Sam was a “Wandering Scientist”, Esma had aged very, very gracefully (shame he didn’t get to speak to her much), Molly was all grown up(also “!”), Carter was fantastically a Captain of his own ship, Kaito was a Captain who was facing a court martial (so cool), Niev was a fierce marine (definitely “!”). Rivi had aged gracefully and was a perfect example of decorum. Keehani had aged disgracefully and was a perfect example of an arsehole. And then there was the offspring. Scotty’s daughter Amara Reade, Bec’s niece Sienna, and then...

Alexis Hopper. The forbidden crush. The feelings he had for her were so wrong, yet so right.

And the future he’d found himself in was very bleak. He’d been rescued from a certain death on the Indy, to help the renegade crew of the Glacier try and stop the Lattice Alliance from winning the war. All because Alpha Ravarj had selfishly surprise attacked the USS Independence-B forty years earlier.

Vataix: Computer, open a priority channel to the Independence. ::The computer chimed in acknowledgement. =/\= Independence, this is Ambassador Vataix. Priority One. Raise shields immediately! =/\=

And from over his shoulder, with his back to young-again Rivi, alive-again Bec, the Vulcanoid who he hadn’t met yet, and a group of armed Starfleet security officers pointing their phasers at him, it seemed his spiralled thoughts had gone astray, into the mind of a Betazoid he’d become close to.

Rivi Vataix. 2401 Rivi Vataix.

oO Wait, did Nathan send me back to... oh lordy. Oo

Keehani: =/\= Ambassador? =/\=

Hopper: =/\= Response =/\=

Vataix: =/\= We'll explain later. Tell the Hirogen to do the same and bring everyone back to Amity. I'm putting the station on full alert. =/\=

Keehani: =/\= Of course, Ambassador. I suspect the Hirogen delegation will want details. If I was in their shoes, I would too. =/\=

Hopper: =/\= Response =/\=

Vataix: =/\= Also... can you confirm Wil's location? =/\=

Keehani: =/\= He is... indisposed. =/\=

oO Translation: “He’s taking a leak.” Oo

He couldn’t of course sense Keehani with her being so far away, in fact he pretty much had to be in the same room with those he was closest to be able to sense anything from them, but the tone in her voice was unmistakable.

This was professional, kind, caring, diligent, stars in her eyes, rising star diplomat Keehani Ukinix he could hear. He wasn’t dreaming - Nathan had definitely sent him back. Too bad he couldn’t move from being slumped against a toilet wall to do anything about it.

Hopper: =/\= Response =/\=

Vataix: ...so it's true. ::She took a deep breath.:: =/\= It's fine. Wil is here with me now back on Amity. =/\=

Keehani: =/\= ...what? =/\=

Apparently that hadn’t made sense to Keehani, so much so that her diplomacy failed her. He could just about see her puzzled look at Robin, the one that said, “I love Rivi but has she lost it?” Wil snickered for a brief moment, until he felt pain that made him stop-- and realise that he’d *also* damaged a rib or two.

Hopper: =/\= Response =/\=

Ukinix: =/\= ::strained:: G’day Keehani. Robin. How are ya’. I’m here now. =/\=

Aitas/Iko: Response

Vataix: =/\= We'll sort this all out once you're all back on Amity. For now, stay vigilant. =/\=

Keehani: =/\= Of course, Madam Ambassador... is Wil okay? =/\=

Hopper: =/\= Response =/\=

The comms closed. He wondered about the chaos Rivi had now caused on the Indy, and imagined Robin and Keehani running around in the corridors like headless chooks. It made him mischievously smile for the briefest of moments.

Thankfully he remembered, for his ribs’ sake, not to laugh.

Vataix: Can you take him to get checked out by medical?

Iko: Response

Vataix: I'll be down there shortly. Tell Envoy Kizat to bring the station to red alert and call for any Starfleet reinforcement in the area.

Iko: Response

Ukinix: ::Strained:: I can’t walk.

Iko/Aitas?: Response
