In her enthusiasm to talk holonovels, Robin had all but forgotten her sandwich and drink, the ice melting in her glass, quickly converting the ‘iced’ tea within to ‘watered’ tea.
Hopper: ::Grunted with love:: Ugh… I love the holodeck. Scotty and S’Raga can attest. I’m an enthusiast.
At last she remembered that she was here for lunch and picked up her glass of iced tea, sipping at the straw happily.
Hopper: ::To everyone:: What are some of your favourite hobbies?
S’Raga: Well, I was on a Post-Ball team in the Academy–
Sipping her drink, Robin made a mental note to look up whatever “Caitian Post-Ball” was. She’d played volleyball at Berkeley and wondered if the Caitan sport bore any similarity to the Earth game. She could certainly picture S’Raga bouncing around, batting at a ball like a kitten after the yarn – and the thought made her smile.
S’Raga: –but I haven't had the chance to play since my second year. Just got too busy after that. ::To Evelyn and Scotty:: How about you two?
Reade: I like reading.
She nodded, picking up her sandwich and taking a bite. oO I’ll have to glance at Scotty’s book collection the next time I swing by his place… Oo
Beake: I collect old ship badges. I love hearing the old history.
Reade: How about you Robin?
Hopper: ::Mouth full of sandwich:: Hmm?
It was the second time she’d been caught off guard during the lunchtime conversation.
Hopper: Mm.. ::Swallowing, covering her mouth:: Sorry. ::Chuckling:: I guess I’m a bit of a retrophile. I love vintage clothing, movies, books…
Reade: Interesting.
Beake: Care to share more Robin? I would love to learn more if I can.
Robin smiled at the Betazoid woman across from her. Evelyn wasn’t going to know what hit her.
Hopper: Better yet, I’ll show you. While the Kitty Hawk’s still stopped here at Amity, I can show you some of the wardrobe I have catalogued in my replicator pattern buffer. A lot is from Earth’s 20th and 23rd centuries, but I’ve got a few other bits and bobs in there to spice it up!
Robin went to take another sip of her iced tea and found it empty, her straw making a little slurpy sound. She shrugged and set the glass down.
Hopper: ::To Evelyn:: If that sounds fun, just hit me up any time after I actually get furniture in my place.
Reade: That is great. ::smiling:: That was some good food. I think I am done my meal. Shall we get the bill?
Robin picked up her sandwich, finishing off the last few bites.
S'Raga: I'm thinking of staying a little longer and trying out a dessert, actually. I saw something on the menu called "poutine" which looked intriguing. But by all means, don't feel like you have to stay on my account! I'll be ok on my own! It was a pleasure to meet you, Evelyn!
Hopper: ::To Scotty and Evelyn:: Totally. Nice getting to know you both a little better. ::To S’Raga:: You too, S’Raga – and let me know when you get that holodeck time booked!
