((Aitas’ Apartment, ShiKahr District – Amity Outpost))Aitas: Let me show you where I’ve put them. And can I make you a drink while you’re here? I did get in a few extra supplies recently.
She still had a present she needed to give to one Consul Keehani Ukinix on that account.
Jakarn: Forgive the surprise! Aitas, you’ve failed to introduce me. ::He said it with good humor, and extended a hand to Robin.:: Jakarn, at your service. And you are…?
Robin, thankfully, didn’t seem too shocked (or starstruck) at his presence.
Aitas: ::to Jakarn, teasing:: And deprive you of the pleasure of introducing yourself?
Hopper: ::Extending a hand:: Lieutenant Commander Robin Hopper. Nice to meet you.
Jakarn: It’s an honor to meet you, Commander. Charmed.
Jakarn, being his usual self, lifted Robin’s hand to his lips. It was no surprise that Robin’s cheeks turned a little red at that.
Hopper: Oh! Well, aren’t you the charmer? *Ahem* On behalf of Amity’s Starfleet contingent, welcome to the Outpost, Jakarn. I hope you’re enjoying your time here so far… ::Turnign to Aitas, with a flushed smile:: I’m off duty – a drink would be great. Can I help?
Aitas: I wouldn’t mind an update on the station while I’ve been gone. And I’m happy to make you something.
She motioned to the kitchen cupboards, which had child locks to keep the various bar supplies out of Aurelio’s grasp. But most of what Aitas had been working with was designed for Vulcan physiology…or Jakarn’s cybernetic liver. She slid a few bottles to the side.
Jakarn: Response
Hopper: Well, what are we drinking?
Aitas: Experiments, mostly. I got in a bit of
Jalara Fire so I’ve been trying a few things. It’s very sweet.
Aitas grabbed a particularly ornate bottle from the counter. The alcohol inside glowed a faint purple.
Then she set it back down and moved to open the other doors in the apartment so Robin could get a full view of the plants. Aurelio’s bedroom was rather stuffed full of the things, amid pictures of the nebula and several rotating holos. Aitas’ own room was a bit more subdued, with long, flowing vines racing up wooden pillars in the corners.
Jakarn: Response
Hopper: I like what you’ve done with the place, and it looks like all the plants are doing well so far. You’ve been keeping an eye on them with the subsoil moisture meters I gave you?
Hopper stopped in front of one of the plants that was, in Aitas’ very inexpert opinion, doing quite well. But she’d learned not to trust her own opinions there too far.
Aitas: I have been, and I think if Aurelio was keeping any closer of an eye on them he’d get roots on his face.
Jakarn: Response
Hopper: ::Standing up:: My background is in Advanced Physics – but, I guess even earlier than that, I was tending plants. My family manages a hydroponic farm on Theta VII… a little old colony out near the borderlands. You’ve probably never heard of it.
That wasn’t a bet that Aitas would have made. But she knew Jakarn better than most. He had a very good memory.
Jakarn: Response
Aitas: My father used to take me off on his research expeditions when I was young, but I don’t remember any taking us through that area. Perhaps I should make a map of those; I think Aurelio would enjoy it.
Hopper/Jakarn: Response
Aitas: I can do most drinks you’d find on Risa or Betazed, a few Romulan styles, and then a more eccentric selection past that. I really should talk to T’Plutok at some point; Vulcan alcohol tends toward wine and I’ve always preferred mine a bit stronger.
Hopper/Jakarn: Response
She stepped back behind the counter and started to sort through various bottles. She set the rest of the particularly strong ones aside, then started to measure ingredients out.
Aitas: But how has Amity been? Sometimes I think things might remain quiet for a while, and then I’ll blink and there will be a half-dozen new incidents to smooth over.
The joys of diplomacy, as it were.
Hopper/Jakarn: Response
