Aitas: None of us can just fix all of it, but we can at least make a start on it. ::She turned to look out over the park.:: Though perhaps it’d be an easier start on more food than a squeezed orange and a couple of pastries? They weren't out of chocolate at the stand, last I checked.

Varati: Indeed. We shouldn't rush into anything. And if some time has passed since the actual incident, it will certainly be easier for me and more difficult for others to establish a direct connection.

D’Cyra seemed to refocus as the topic of food caught up with her. Aitas sometimes had to wonder just what percentage of science officers got so preoccupied with one project or another as to neglect their diet.

Taelon had had a particularly bad case of it, once. Aitas could still vividly remember the stacks of coffee cups.

Varati: I don't think more sweets so early in the day are a good idea. And these topics weren't really on my agenda today. I'd prefer something savoury and warm right now. … Do you have any ideas? My fridge is unfortunately empty of fresh ingredients.

Aitas: There’s an Andorian fusion place that has temporarily relocated to near the barbeque area. Savory and warm seems to be their specialty.

She gestured off in the appropriate direction.

The Laibok District, being more interconnected than most of the Habitat Ring, had gained some particularly interesting damage patterns.

Varati: Sure, we can do that. But first I definitely need a hot shower and some more suitable clothes. I don't like going out to eat when I'm half-sweaty. That'll take a maximum of 30 minutes.

Aitas gave that a brief nod. She tried not to notice the scent of the crew, most of the time. Such  was preferable to having her senses literally burnt out.

Aitas: I can meet you there in about thirty minutes; it’ll give me time to read over a few reports. Maybe send Aurelio a check-in.

He’d heard enough of what had happened to be worried, no matter what distractions were offered.

Varati: Should we ask Jakarn to join us too? I mean, he knows the situation firsthand, doesn't he? But okay, we can discuss that later. I haven't seen Aurelio in a long time... Anyway, I'll head out now and we'll meet up again in half an hour at the latest.

Aitas: I’m sure Aurelio would be happy to see you once he’s back. But I’ll see you in thirty minutes.

She didn’t think they’d need Jakarn for the process, but it wouldn’t hurt to follow up with him about it either. Eventually.

In the meantime, there were the reports.

Aitas pulled a PADD out of a pocket and flipped to the appropriate page.

There were always reports.
