First Secretary Aitas - Well, that's concerning

Aitas paused; there were a pair of vole bodies laying there, quite away from any directions Iko had fired in.

Aitas: Something else killed these voles. Are they more sensitive to the storm than we are?

She took a step closer. One of the bodies was twisted up until the spikes on its back dug into its spine. She couldn’t see any obvious injuries on the other.

Iko/Orrey: Response

Aitas: They’re further out than some of the others. Stragglers perhaps?

Iko/Orrey: Response

She pulled her jacket off and knelt down next to the less-damaged body.

Aitas: I can carry it, if you want to run some tests while we’re at medical. 

She’d have an easier time with hauling than the doctor, and it’d leave Iko free to handle any further voles. 

Iko/Orrey: Response

Aitas: Is there anything else we have to do to shut things down here?

Iko/Orrey: Response

Aitas: Onward, then. Fureri has noticed a few spikes of energy usage in the Habitat Ring; hopefully there isn’t too much damage. 

She still had her connection with the bot, and thus far it seemed like coms had remained functional as well. How long that would last...it seemed better not to test it. 

Iko/Orrey: Response

Then there was what felt like an echo, a brief twinge of pain, and a strange feeling of cold, as if some great wind had blown just past her. Three dead animals lay before them, presumably the voles, but the spikes upon their backs were raised and twisted, and their claws set each into the neck of another.

Aitas: I don’t think the storm is doing them any favors. I felt— 

She shook her head. A hint of the death of the animals, perhaps. It had been too brief to be sure.

And if there was anything stranger going on, then best to be done with the shutdowns and back to safer surroundings.
