((Terminal D, Amity Outpost))

Bec was looking for that new ensign who had been thrown in the deep end in the last mission and had almost died. She was doing so partly to get to know the Ensign, but also to give out an apology. Bec was not only the outpost’s second officer but she was first and foremost its chief of Sec/Tac, and most of the PADDwork she was doing at the moment was trying to figure out how she could have made sure that, y'know, a torpedo didn't follow Annamae and this new ensign into the shuttlebay.

It didn't take long to find the ensign however. The MEEO, the main user of the terminal, was mainly run by civilians, who, like the FDC, had their own things and wore their own uniform. That didn’t mean that you didn't see starfleeters down here—in fact Bec's first mission was based around getting a creature they later called the Stellae out of the MEEO's mining rigs, and Starfleet engineers would often come and help out when they were needed, but considering there was still half a shuttlebay to fix up, Bec decided to ask the one officer in gold that she could see a question.

Iko: Whatcha doin’ down here?

Bryn: Response

Iko: Honestly I'm trying to see if I can get these guys to get some stuff from the asteroid field for me.

Particularly stuff for making a certain engagement ring for her girlfriend. The one that was meant to be a big surprise, that she didn't want Annamae Barberra to find out about under any circumstances, and that needed to be perfect and have a blue amber stone that Bec was going to have to find from somewhere too.

Bec had paused research on that front for the moment though. Trying to build a ring for your girlfriend while your ex was around didn't seem particularly fair. Or nice. And she wasn't sure with the designs yet either.

But Bec could still do some research while running into new ensigns.

Bryn: Response

Iko: What was your name?

Bryn: Response

Bec smiled. She'd guessed right.

She shrugged.

Iko: You can just call me “Bec”.

She paused for a moment, glanced around, and then decided.

Iko: Say, do you wanna go grab a coffee or something?

Bec had pointed with her thumb over her shoulder and towards the train line that would take everyone to the Grand Mezz.

Bryn: Response
