((Bridge, USS Independence-B))

Aitas: Thank you, Captain. ::she turned from him to Ashwood and Ar’a’Dal:: I’ve no doubt this attack will be another factor in the negotiations, but I appreciate that we have gotten this far nonetheless.

Presuming that another explosion didn’t immediately kill all of them, Aitas wanted to finish up negotiations, go back to Amity, get some drinks, get laid, and perhaps have a conversation with someone who could actually understand the situation.

And they’d probably also want her to talk to one of the counselors.

Ashwood: It would seem that the UAW and the Zumardi will have a lot of work ahead of them. I just hope that this could be the start of something new, and collaborative?

Aitas simply nodded, and motioned for the two envoys to join her at the small table at the back of the bridge for the moment.

Ertmo: It shouldn’t take them long…I’m sure we’ll hear back soon.

Ar’a’Dal: Response

Ashwood promptly turned to handling the recovery teams. From what little Aitas could see, there was a hole in the side of the ready room and the furniture (and various refreshments) were missing. Along, of course, with all the abandoned PADDS.

For her part, Aitas returned her attention back to the envoys.

Aitas: I can get a new batch of refreshments, if you’d like.

She smoothed her skirt out again; one of the petals had nearly gotten caught in the door as it closed.

Ertmo: I enjoyed the…yellow and red juice, if you could obtain that again.

Thankfully, Robin and the crew aboard the Kepler had already translated that response for Aitas.

Ar’a’Dal: Response

Aitas moved to place the requisite orders from the replicator, keeping an eye on both her guests and the recovery teams. She kept a careful ear out for any new hint of sound, even knowing that they’d now have enough information to track any further explosive devices.

She’d not gotten this far by lacking caution.

Ashwood: Nothing a lick of paint won't fix.

Aitas: Very good to hear Captain. Thank you.

She returned to the table with the requested items and a small glass of uttaberry juice for herself. Should she spill it on her dress the plant would merely consider it a pleasant watering.

Rather a relief for such occasions.

Ar’a’Dal: Response

Ertmo stood, and reached out to take the glass from her. He held it in both hands.

Ertmo: What are you going to do about the explosion?

Aitas: Let us see first what the teams uncover. None of us will be well-served by rushing to conclusions, especially around a battle.

Ashwood/Ar’a’Dal: Response

Aitas: The UAW clearly had the capacity for negotiation before this. Perhaps this will be a reminder to them to expand it.

She expected matters would be handed over to the Ambassador eventually, or perhaps Keehani. But both the Zumardi and the UAW would be better served by learning there, rather than simply leaning upon the Federation.

Ashwood/Ar’a’Dal: Response

Ertmo: We didn’t know as much as we thought we did, certainly.

His head turned back and forth as he took another sip of his juice. It was clear that his people had more to learn from the Federation.

And, as well, that they shouldn’t simply assume lessons from the Federation blindly either.

Ashwood/Ar’a’Dal: Response
