((Medical Facility, Trenvonn Ship O’Ran))
Seleya: Yes, I need you to find out what’s causing my Palladium levels to spike and get it below 250 ng/ml. Do not use any sort of iron infusion, iron will just make my levels spike more. And make sure they get all the internal bleeding.
Nevark: First orders?
Wong: We need to start filtering her blood to get the Palladium levels down. I’m going to need the electrophoretic dialysis unit. It should be our medkits if you want to get that ready.
Seleya turned her head back up to the ceiling, clenching her hand into a fist. She needed these doctors to act soon or else was going to start yelling at them.
Wong: I’m also going to need you to load up her medical file on a PADD. See if you can find anything important such as allergies or past history.
Nevark: Response
Seleya: As the doctor said ::gesturing to Yrnans:: I already have internal damage, but wasting time repairing the damage isn’t going to do anything with my blood actively poisoning my own body.
Wong: Currently, bleeding is the one thing that’s keeping you alive right now. It’s giving us a fighting chance against the Palladium buildup.
Seleya let out a sigh, I guess that was one way to spin a negative into a positive.
Nevark: Response
Seleya: For the love of gods, please tell me you have painkillers.
Wong: Yes, we do. Never leave home without em!
Yrnans: Pain inhibitors *are* something I could have offered earlier, Seleya of Khanda.
Yrnans: This will stop any pain–
Seleya let out a sigh of relief as the hypospray quickly got to work numbing the burning pain all over her body. It would not fix anything, but it would allow her mind to focus on staying alive.
Nevark: Response
Wong: Any better?
Seleya: Much, thank you.
Nevark: Response
Seleya grunted as she felt the pressure of the dialysis unit being hooked up. She was not unfamiliar with them from her childhood. It would only make sense why she was on one now.
Wong: And there we go - another fighting chance. But that still leaves us with the mystery as to why it’s spiking.
Yrnans: ::To Nevark:: You are a medical scient-- medical *officer*, as well?
Nevark: Response
Yrnans: Oh. Quite... unique. We have no direct parallel in Trenvonn society. I would be curious though to understand your role--
Naarax: ::Curtly:: Scientist III.
Wong: While I’m working here, can you tell us what happened when your Palladium levels started to spike? I’m assuming it’s whatever’s connected to your injuries at this point.
Seleya: I don’t know the exact moment they started spiking, but I got injured when I narrowly escaped a Vaadwaur ship being destroyed in underspace. I would not be surprised if that had anything to do with it.
Nevark: Response.
Naarax: The High Council has instructed me to ask, why your officer was in a Starfleet vessel, and where it originated from?
Selaya turned her head glaring at Naarax from the repeated question. It was almost like they had already reached their conclusion. She supposed even the more “rational” of species could still be controlled by their fears.
Seleya: -Vaadwaur- escape pod from a -Vaadwaur- ship ::she corrected:: and like I already said, I emerged from underspace.
Nevark/Wong: Response
Naarax: “Underspace”. Such a simple term to describe that phenomenon. The Trenvonn have of course studied the corridors. Given their instability in the Nebula that we share, they offer no further avenue of study for our purposes.
Naarax: Nor threat. Until now.
Naarax: The High Council are also expecting a report. What is the status of the patient?
Seleya fell silent, letting the doctors who were actively treating her report her progress. They probably knew better… Hopefully.
Nevark/Wong: Responses
Seleya: I will take every moment the doctors will buy me, I need to return to Starfleet.
Nevark/Wong/Naarax/Yrnans: Response
Seleya gave Naarax another annoyed look, she was not a fan of this one. And given her dire state she had lost her patience. Seleya pushed herself up to face Naarax, her tone more tense.
Seleya: For people that call themselves scientists you seem to be arriving at the conclusion first before finding the evidence. Which I am sure any rational species would know is an irrational way to conduct science that leads to bias.
Nevark/Wong/Naarax/Yrnans: Response
Seleya: You told me to find proof of not doing something I had not done, you should know better. How does one prove a negative? Maybe you should put your efforts towards trying to disprove what I had said. Try to prove I had come here with intent, and not by accident or desperation.
Seleya then slumped back down on the table, hoping the continued accusations and questions ceased until the doctors would figure out if she was dying soon or not.
Nevark/Wong/Naarax/Yrnans: Response..
