Wong: Of course since I am a senior officer, I don’t know anything. ::A wink::

And he shouldn’t after all. But then again, who was counting?

Varati: ::to Ikaia:: Of course... but you instigated us! Perhaps we can even invoke diplomatic immunity if necessary?

Okay. Perhaps maybe Varati. Ikaia mimicked zipping his lips with a zipper. He was going to keep on “not knowing anything.”

Saavei/Bryn: Response

Before he could say anything more, it seemed like Varati was the next person to get a bite.

Varati: ::surprised:: Wait! I think someone's finally taken the bait!

But that was short lived as an empty line came back with enough force to send Varati tumbling backward.

Varati: Uff! That's not how I imagined it! First a backpack and now a bitten-off lure! These seem to be some pretty cunning salmon... or is there a hungry Moopsy lurking around here?

Wong: If there were a hungry Moopsy around, I’m pretty sure we’d all be very well aware of it!

Bryn/Saavei: Response

He held his hand out to help Varati back to her feet.

Varati: ::stands up:: Thanks! ::to Saelis & Ikaia:: Maybe you two will have better luck!

Wong: Catching a fish is about the wait and the patience. Of course, me being in medicine, I’m never short on patients.

Bryn/Saavei: Response

Varati: Hmpff! I'll just wash my hands and get us something to drink... then we can discuss whether we want to continue trying our luck with the fish or start with bingo.

Wong: There should be a cooler full of drinks near our baskets. I wasn’t entirely sure what everyone liked. I just knew which allergies to avoid.

Bryn/Saavei: Response

Varati: Response

Ikaia placed his fingers on the line to see if he could feel anything getting curious about his bait.

Wong: Truthfully, I’m looking forward to making you three a First Contact Day meal you wouldn’t soon forget! There is something about non-replicated food that just hits different.

Bryn/Saavei/Varati: Response.

Ikaia felt a tug on the line. Followed by a much harder pull. He pulled back on the rod and started reeling in whatever it was (he hoped it wasn’t another backpack!)

Wong: Fish on! Fish on! Someone get the net!

Bryn/Saavei/Varati: Response.

It was a sheer battle of wills between himself and (hopefully) the fish. It was a pattern of easing and pulling as he felt something fighting back.

Wong: It’s coming! I hope someone has the net!

Bryn/Saavei/Varati: Response.

It would have been easy for him, with his Klingon strength, to just pull back. But there was always a solid risk of the line snapping. So he had to play carefully. He continued reeling until he saw a flash of fins and scales fly up out of the water! It was the salmon!

He kept pulling until it was finally at the shore. It dangled from his line.

Wong: And here we go! The first catch of the day!

Bryn/Saavei/Varati: Response.
