((Main Engineering, UAW Enterprise))

Juriton and the Starfleet engineer Saavei were successfully pumping coolant through the entire Enterprise gel pack system, while 10 security officers outside were trying to get their way past the engineering blast door.

Juriton: Well, when the coolant travels back this way, they're going to get very cold. ::Looking at duct-plus tape on his sleeve:: and so might I.

It was working for now, but in extreme cold temperatures, he wasn't sure it would hold. Duct-plus tape was an Illidarian marvel but not designed to protect someone in extreme cold like that.

Saavei: If we begin to lose temperature control, I will deactivate the inhibitors so we can perform an emergency beam out. I believe our task is nearly accomplished?

Juriton: ::Tapping console:: All I can tell you is that the gel packs are freezing. We may not know unless the Kepler can do some sort of scans of our ship. Do you have that capability?

Saavei: We do though the Kepler is likely occupied at the moment. We will be able to verify it in short order, once there is a stand down with the Astrofleet.

He nodded, then looked at the security officers who where were trying to find their way in. He'd isolated engineering controls, but that didn't mean it would hold them out forever.

Varati: =/\= Saavei?! We'll send you a backup in case the gel packs can no longer be frozen... UrCho spray. Better not ask what's in it. =/\=

That made Juriton raise his eyebrows.

Wong: =/\= You're going to need to know what's in it. ::A brief pause:: It's a compound synthesized with urine - either synthetic or uh... natural if you can get it from a healthy source. =/\=

His eyes darted left towards Saavei, a little concerned.

Saavei: =/\= I am certain the UAW Enterprise possesses recycling systems which could provide the requisite materials ::Then to Juriton:: Additional solutions present themselves. =/\=

Juriton: That's good because I haven't had a drink of anything in a while. ::clears throat, taps console:: Ensign, I can report that the gel packs are reporting rapid core temperature drops before going offline. I think it's working.

It would let the gel packs heal, and kill the mould. He nodded towards Saavei, before turning to look at the security officers.

Apparently his attempts to get through the blast doors had been, dare he think it as a Delta Quadrant native, oO futile. Oo They were just staring, trying to look mean. That made the Scientist quietly chuckle.

Behind him, he heard the whirs of Saavei's advanced Starfleet tricorder going to work.

Juriton: They don't know it yet, but I think we're going to save the Enterprise, all going well.

Saavei: I did note one curious detail with my tricorder scan after we neutralized the Lieutenant. ::She motioned towards Trauina:: I do not believe her life signs match UAW species. Nor are they a match for the Zumardi.

Juriton: ::spinning around:: What?!

He walked over to stand next to Saavei, and looked down at Trauina's body.

Saavei: She is a surgically altered Vaadwaur. I imagine both the UAW and Zumardi will have a number of questions for her, when she regains consciousness.

He paused, and leaned in a little closer, moving his head from side to side to look for any signs of Trauina's body being altered.

Juriton: Woah. Vaadwaur, hey? That's really interesting, because I wasn't kidding about Trauina's mother being an admiral in The Bronze--

His gaze snapped back to the blast doors. It seemed one of the security officers had managed to jury rig the outside console. The blast door raised a crack, indicating that his and Saavei's time was limited.

Juriton reached for Trauina's phaser...

Juriton: Ensign, I suggest we beam back to your ship, quickly. Sorry about this.

... then shot each transport inhibitor. They weren't going to have time to disable them and pack them up properly, before security got in.

As the security officers tried prying the door open further, the world sparkled around him...

[End Mission for Juriton!]

[But Begin shore leave!]

Ukinix: ::smiling:: Hey, Ensign! How are you? Fancy meeting you here of all places.

Wil, with arms crossed and sporting a smile, approached Ensign Saavei, with PADD tucked under his shoulder.

Saavei: Response

Ukinix: ::Reading from PADD:: Inferior gel packs, huh?

Saavei: Response

Ukinix: ::whistles:: Wow. Imagine trying to reverse engineer the entirety of Starfleet from partial, bootleg information. And using your own DNA in the gel packs, that's just-- ::showing picture of UAW gel pack on PADD to Saavei:: nuts, it's just nuts. ::Looks back at PADD::

Saavei: Response

Ukinix: They've killed the pathogen, and their Enterprise-- ::stifled laugh:: still blows my mind-- their Enterprise is going to be okay. They've asked for assistance to replace their gel packs innards with synthetic neuron goo. Not approved by the FDC yet, ::rolling hand:: Prime Directive and all that, but... best be prepared. Is that do-able?

Saavei: Response
