((Conference Room, Deck 1, USS Kepler - en route back to Amity Outpost))

Juriton stood looking out of the window, hands behind his back as he watched space streak by. Warp travel was a marvel of science, and he was thankful for it.

It had led to some of the most entertaining Antaran Class Rally races he had seen, and over the years, with the technical changes to the rules, the racing had got better.

As for the UAW, well that was another question. If they weren't in so much of a hurry, and had stayed in development like he and a few others had recommended in the early design phases, they wouldn't have been in the mess they were in now - they'd have had much better warp capable ships.

oO DNA in the gel packs Oo. He shook his head. The risks were clear. He'd *made* them clear. And then lo and behold- they had to suddenly go into ad-hic mitigation mode. Sure, it was introduced by the Zumardi, a scenario he hadn't expected, or that no-one had accounted for, but risk was risk. Advice was advice.

Impatience was impatience. And the original UAW project leaders, who became members of The Bronze, got the red flag they deserved.

He hoped, after this, that some would get a *black* flag and be disqualified.

When the door to the conference room slid open, he casually turned around with his usual, slight closed mouth smile.

Aitas: Response

Juriton: It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm formerly Astrofleet Commander Juriton, formerly Chief of Science. I say formerly, because I'm responsible for telling the secret of the DNA in the gel packs, and for the half-dozen or so officers that have followed my lead and requested political asylum. ::Pulling out chair:: Mind if I have a seat?

It wasn't really a question. His legs genuinely did feel tired and a little sore. He'd been on them long before Starfleet had turned up, trying to work out ways of healing the gel packs and stopping the pathogen. In his mind, he'd earned a rest.

Aitas: Response

Juriton: First Secretary, apologies, I've not caught up on all events. I've heard that some of the UAW ships did not follow Mokto's lead?

Aitas: Response

Juriton: Wonders will never cease. There may be hope for us yet. Although... ::interlocking fingers, leaning forward:: at this stage, I'm not sure I can go back. "Us" may have to be "them".

Aitas: Response
