Rosek-Skyfire: ::shrugs:: I’m still keeping up. It just takes more out of me than I’m used to. My husband and older daughter have needed to take on some of the more challenging tasks.
Wong: What sorts of tasks do you find challenging?
Rosek-Skyfire: Mostly things that involve climbing or reaching top shelves. For example, hanging Christmas decorations. My husband needed to help.
Last year had been different. With the size of their quarters, it was just easier to holographically project them. This year, she’d been determined to provide her family with the same authentic experience she’d enjoyed back home. Yes, technology had had its place in the Rosek house. But Christmas and holiday decoration wasn’t it. The smell of pine brought back memories of Christmas mornings around the tree, opening presents, and drinking hot chocolate.
Wong: Well, fortunately I don’t think there’s much climbing involved when it comes to ops. Not usually at least anyways!
Rosek-Skyfire: ::grins:: Not unless the turbolifts are down. Thankfully, Amity has the automated train system for just such an emergency.
Wong: I suppose that brings me to my next point - planning. Do you have any plans right now?
Rosek-Skyfire: That depends on what you mean by plans. ::shrugs:: Sure, I have them. But have learned that things rarely ever turn out the way you think, so it’s important to be flexible.
Wong: It’s important to have plans. You may be okay with things now. But it’s still important to consider where you might be in the future.
There was a time when she’d lived so far in the future that she’d forgotten to enjoy what was in front of her. Over the years, she’d found a balance between pondering the possibilities and enjoying the moment. It hadn’t been easy for her OCD mind to grasp (she could get very hyper-focused when she allowed herself to), but it was a work in progress.
Rosek-Skyfire: ::smiles:: Well, for now, my plans are to wrap up this appointment and find the heartiest beef pot roast stew this side of the Delta Quadrant.
Wong: Response
Rosek-Skyfire: ::chuckles:: It’s the small things in life, Doc. The small things.
Wong: Response
Rosek-Skyfire: So how are my babies looking? Anything my husband and I should be worried about?
Wong: Response
