((Shi’kahr District, Amity Outpost))
Aitas was ever finding little areas tucked into the district. Miniature parks, or meditation spaces, or simply smoothed-out sections of sand behind tall hedges that could serve a multitude of uses.
It was one of the latter she’d chosen here. The hedge was formed of plants cushioned with water, well-suited to hold it against the dryness and the heat. Aitas felt, for a moment, that she should have been able to name them. But she’d never spent much time on Vulcan.
She’d have to look it up.
In the meantime, there was a more straightforward task to attend to. She gave Seleya just the briefest hint of a smile.
Aitas: Show me your posture, then.
Seleya: Response
Aitas nodded and stepped around, gesturing briefly at one point or another. The heat, the gravity, did not make such requests easier. The last time they’d done this had been on Risa, and that had been far more forgiving.
But forgiving was not the usual state of their work.
Aitas: Show me the starting lunges, first. Then we can move on to the batons.
Seleya: Response
Aitas pulled out two training akai and handed one to Seleya.
Aitas: Start slowly. Let yourself adjust a bit to the gravity. You’ll tire far more quickly here.
And especially so if Seleya hadn’t fully recovered. Aitas wouldn’t put pushing herself too hard past the now-intelligence officer.
It was a sentiment she understood all too well.
