((Cherry Blossoms Biome, Peace Park, Amity Outpost))
Seleya was taking her time enjoying the Amity amenities. Lot’s of restaurants, large rooms and hotels, must have been nice living on a station. Right after the Academy Seleya was posted to a ship as was standard for most Starfleet officers. But she had heard rumors that keeping a posting on some of these stations was practically a constant vacation and she could see why, given that Amity was a smaller station, she could only imagine the larger ones.
She was taking a morning jog through what they called Peace Park, which was amazing. The holodecks could maybe simulate this, but being here in the flesh was entirely something else. She kept a light pace making her way through the different biomes around the ring. Eventually she made her way into the Cherry Blossom biome. It reminded her of Japan from Earth.
Seleya never visited the place much, the one time her and her brother had gone over to acquire an old family combustion motorcycle from Earth’s 21st century. It was still in storage in San Francisco.
The thoughts of the motorcycle cause Selya to just zone out. Not really paying attention to the path ahead until there was a brief flash of green, and a soft impact as she realized she ran into a small Orion, knocking her to the ground.
Varati: :: cursing, getting up again:: Argh, what a mess! I'm such a scatterbrain! I must apologize... As a historian, I far too often look at what lies behind me and not at what lies ahead…
Seleya was stunned for a moment, and she leaned down to try to offer a hand, but Varati had quickly pushed herself back up again.
Seleya: Oh, I am so sorry, I was also not paying attention.
Varati: I hope you weren't hurt? ::pause:: We know each other, don't we? I think we met in the sick bay a few days ago… But it was very busy and unfortunately I can't remember your name.
Seleya let out an amused huff, she really should have been the one checking on Varati. Seleya hadn’t even fallen down to the ground.
Seleya: Lieutenant Junior Grade, Seleya of Khanda, I am the unexpected visitor from the Alpha Quadrant.
Varati: Ah yes, now I remember! I am pleased to meet you. And yes, it was quite a mission for all of us, full of surprises. But how rude of me, I haven't even introduced myself yet: D'Cyra. D'Cyra of Varati. Science officer here on Amity. Freethinker, counterclockwise. :giggles::
Seleya cocked her head to the side, interested in the ‘of Varati’. Did Orions use clan names as well, or perhaps it refers to something else entirely. She would have to ask about it as some point
Seleya: A pleasure to meet you.
Varati: And how are you liking it here on Amity? Have you been able to recover a bit from the stress of the last few days? Landing here in the Delta Quadrant must have been somewhat unexpected? …
Seleya: Yes, slowly but surely. I was hoping to be asking some of the commanding officers if there were things I could do around the station to help.
As they seemed to settle for a conversation Seleya shifted, folding her arms behind her back in her usual parade rest as she looked down to the Orion.
Varati: Response
Seleya: I just got to ask, are you sure you are alright? You took the fall between the two of us? Just want to make sure I don’t need to rush you to sickbay.
She looked at Orion, just to triple check she was not hurt. Still a little concerned that with their size different she hit the ground harder than she realized.
Varati: Response
Seleya: Of course, so long as you are alright. ::She paused:: If you don’t mind me asking, you introduced yourself as D’Cyra of Varati, for the Kazleti the second name is our clan name. Is Varati a clan name, or does it mean something else?
Varati: Response
