Nathan sat on the edge of his bed, reading through the list he had made of parts he still needed for the shuttle that sat in the dark down in The Cellar. It was quite the list, but he was confident that he could get it all done. He felt his stomach growl, it finally dawning on him just how hungry he was. He got up, and moved towards the replicator, but stopped. He remembered one of the rewards he had been given by Ukinix after his little flight in the Everest. He just needed someone to take with him. It was a reservation for two after all.

He thought for a moment of who he might ask to join him on such short notice. He thoughts settled on Ikaia, and his nagging urge to get to know the Klingon better. That’s who he was going to ask.

Richards: =/\= Richards to Wong. =/\=

Wong: =/\= Aloha! What’s up Ens—I mean Nathan. It’s Nathan. =/\=

Richards: =/\= I was curious if you had any plans this evening? =/\=

Wong: =/\= Uhhhh…. =/\=

There was a pause over the comm. Nathan wondered if Ikaia was avoiding the prospect of making plans, but he soon spoke…

Wong: =/\= Drinking tea….? =/\=

Richards: =/\= Well, I’m still sitting on a reservation to the Lighthouse that I was thinking about cashing in. And I wanted a chance to talk and get to know you a little better. What do you say? =/\=

Wong: =/\= You want me to join you? Ah er sure! I can do that. Just give me some time to get ready and I’ll meet you there. =/\=

Richards: =/\= Perfect. I’ll see you then. =/\=

Nathan smiled, and began getting ready. He wasn’t sure what the dress code for The Lighthouse was, so he decided to go for a more ‘corporate casual’ look. He put on a white, button up shirk with a dark grey suit jacket with matching slacks. He fought with himself for a moment over whether or not to button up the jacket or not before finally deciding to leave it unbuttoned. He looked at himself in the bathroom mirror one last time before heading out the door and towards the train station.

Nathan waited patiently for Wong to arrive. The restaurant was bustling with people, and Nathan was glad he went with the outfit he had chosen. Not as stuffy as some of the outfits he was seeing, but not casual enough to seem ‘out of place’ either. He looked towards the turbolift doors as they opened to reveal Ikaia.

Richards: Hey there, Doc. I’m glad you could join me on such short notice.

Wong: No problem. Thanks for the invite! I haven’t been up here for a while.

Richards: First time for me. ::chuckling:: I don’t usually go to fancy places like this.

Wong: Well, shall we go find our seats?

Richards: Absolutely!

They made their way to an empty table, sitting across from one another.

Wong: I’ve heard they grill a good steak here! Ahh…. Unless steaks aren’t your thing.

Nathan chuckled at the Klingon. He seemed a little nervous about being out. He couldn’t blame him. An Ensign, being brave enough to invite a superior to dinner at the most exclusive eatery aboard the station was a bit of an interesting concept.

Richards: Well, I like a good steak as much as the next guy, but I am more of a pasta fan.

Wong: Well, what did you want to do? I mean we could just have a water and eat some of the bread sticks until we make up our minds.

Nathan grabbed one of the breadsticks that sat in a fancily adorned basket in the middle of the table, and took a bite.

Richards: ::Mouth full of bread:: Can’t say no to a breadstick.

Ikaia chuckled a little in response. Nathan felt a little more at ease as it seemed the Klingon started to relax.

Wong: Back when I was at the Academy, I was surrounded by Vulcans and I had to learn how to eat things without using my hands in order to be polite around them. That included bread sticks! It ah… takes a lot of patience to do that one.

Nathan raised his eyebrow. Not being able to eat finger foods…with your fingers. That seemed like such a foreign concept when he thought about it. But, then again he knew how some Vulcans were.

Richards: So, fork and knife to eat a bread stick? ::laying his bread stick down on the plate in front of him, picking up the utensils:: It just feels wrong…

Wong: Response

Richards: My Academy class was mostly normal. Nothing too special or restrictive. There was an Andorian with a bit of a temper, but he was kept in check pretty well.

Wong: Response

Richards: I wanted to kind of talk about the road ahead, if that was okay?

Wong: Response

Nathan stabbed his fork into the bread stick on his plate and held it in the air, taking bites out of it that way instead of using his hands.

Richards: Therapy, My new arm, that sort. I get the feeling we might be seeing a lot of each other. I figured maybe dinner was a good way to start that.

Wong: Response

Nathan set the bread stick back down and adjusted his right arm. It felt like dead weight at the moment because he avoided trying to use it as much as possible, to avoid possibly taking out a passerby.

Richards: I’m a little anxious, if you couldn’t tell at my last appointment. I just don’t want to have to worry about… ::raising his prosthetic:: this thing anymore. I’m hoping I can control the new one better.

Wong: Response
