Ikaia paused to take a sip of his drink.

Wong: In medicine, you spend so much time trying to eliminate the disease that when you finally come across a bacteria that can talk to you, it tends to shift things to more of a diplomatic slant.

Dro: Which, even with my limited diplomatic outlook I would be more than willing to help if you were to need it, especially considering the potential outcome with the planet.

Ucron matched the Klingon with a lean forward completing the conspiratorial setting.

Ikaia leaned forward across the table. Dro appeared to be doing the same.

Wong: So my question to you is this - why is it important to set up a Betazoid colony out here? It seems somewhat out of the way, right?

Dro: The short answer, and we may get into the longer one the next time we speak, is breathing room. Room to expand and explore new horizons. Given what you have said about this bacteria we obviously chose well didn’t we? ::smiling::

Wong: Given the nature of L. geobacter, I’d say you’d fit right in.

Dro: I have to admit, I was worried about my daughter when she explained what happened to her but I am glad she had you to help her through the situation. Duty or not, for that I am grateful.

Ikaia politely nodded.

Wong: I’m glad to have been able to help. I did the best that I could for her.

Dro: Regardless, if you need anything do not be afraid to reach out. I would also be very interested in using your data and work so far in ways to move forward with the colony. What to expect and how to interact with the bacteria

Wong: Thank you, Mister Dro. As it stands right now, if we return to Idrustix in the future, I'm going to need some volunteers to help me communicate with L. geobacter as well… I'm not telepathic. I can care for the volunteers if you'd have me.

Dro: Response

Wong: As far as to what to expect without an inoculation, the symptoms are VERY similar to the flu. However, key hallmarks would be a very high fever and delirium. Although WITH the inoculation, there wouldn't be any of those symptoms present. I suppose if someone was so inclined, a telepathic individual should be able to communicate with them.

Dro: Response

Wong: That's the interesting bit, isn't it? It's part diplomacy and part  medicine.

Dro: Response

Wong: In any event, is there anything you wish me to do?

Dro: Response
