(OOC: My wrap up of act 3 for Rivi and Esma/Kiada respectively will be sent as backsims.)

((Chief of Mission's Office, Amity Outpost - Late 2401, seven minutes before Ravarj's ships decloak and attack the FDC-Hirogen conference, destroying the USS Independence-B))

Ambassador Rivi Vataix was just about to finish her late day in the office. Her husband Tidrid was waiting patiently back at their residence in the Habitat Ring, overseeing a visit by Molly Williams with their son Istrol and young cousin Ayeden who was in their care. Even from far above in Copernicus Center, Rivi could sense the children were having the most delightful time subjecting her imzadi to something called a "makeover."

Still, she had a final agenda on her list as a new arrival to the crew had just walked into her office. She looked up upon seeing the two glass doors slide open and smiled broadly at the raven-haired woman who stepped in. While pointed ears clearly indicated the woman's Vulcan heritage, her all-black irises and telepathic presence revealed to Rivi their shared Betazoid background as well.

Aitas: Response

Sitting behind her desk, the ambassador greeted the woman warmly.

Vataix: Hello! Welcome to Amity Outpost. I am Ambassador Niarivi Vataix, Daughter of the Eleventh House of Betazed. But you may call me Rivi.

She gestured for the woman to come closer and take a seat across from her desk.

Vataix: I know some are more comfortable with formal address, so if that's the case for you, Madam Ambassador is fine as well.

Aitas: Response

Vataix: How was your trip?

Aitas: Response

Rivi nodded, chuckling slightly.

Vataix: Even in this magnificent age of quantum slipstream travel, I *always* appreciate just how far we really are out here during those six weeks...

Aitas: Response

Vataix: I saw in your file you served previously in Starfleet.

Aitas: Response

Rivi folded her hands together in her lap as she leaned back in her chair.

Vataix: We do have a sizeable Starfleet contingent supporting our operations here on Amity, but make no mistake: this is first and foremost a Federation Diplomatic Corps facility, civilian-run and led. I only mention that because for some--both Starfleet and civilian--it is a bit of an adjustment.

Aitas: Response

Vataix: And speaking of led... what led you to the FDC from Starfleet?

Aitas: Response

(OOC: Feel free to expand here a little with tags for Rivi)

As the Betazoid ambassador continued to learn more about her new staff member, there was a sudden loud thud followed by a low groan from behind the door of Rivi's personal washroom attached to the office. Both women turned to look over at the door, and Rivi stood up.

Vataix: By the Four...

Aitas: Response

It must not have even been a minute before Amity's chief of security Lt. Commander Bec Iko had stormed into the office, along with two other security officers.

Vataix: It's okay, Bec. We're all right.

Iko: Response

Aitas: Response

Vataix: This is Secretary Aitas, a new diplomat assigned to Amity.

Aitas: Response

Iko: Response

Rivi turned back towards the door, still not believing exactly what--or rather *who* she was sensing.

Vataix: We need to call someone from medical...

Iko/Aitas: Response

They all approached the door, the other security officers with their phasers drawn and ready. One of them looked back at Rivi, who nodded the go ahead, before he pressed the door switch. It slid open to reveal the inexplicable sight of Wil Ukinix, hunched over the toilet, in a strange outfit that sort of resembled a Starfleet uniform.

Vataix: Wil!

Ukinix: Response

Iko/Aitas: Response

She moved over to help him, but was stopped briefly by one of the security officers.

Vataix: It's fine. I know he's our Wil. Having spent time with... other iterations of this man, trust me, I know.

Iko/Aitas: Response

She crouched down to turn him over slowly.

Vataix: What are you doing here?

Ukinix: Response

Iko/Aitas: Response

As she sensed his rush of thoughts, she wasn't quite sure how exactly he'd had such experiences, but the most urgent concern now was loud and clear.

Vataix: Computer, open a priority channel to the Independence. ::The computer chimed in acknowledgement. =/\= Independence, this is Ambassador Vataix. Priority One. Raise shields immediately! =/\=

Hopper/Keehani: =/\= Response =/\=

Vataix: =/\= We'll explain later. Tell the Hirogen to do the same and bring everyone back to Amity. I'm putting the station on full alert. =/\=

Hopper/Keehani: =/\= Response =/\=

Vataix: =/\= Also... can you confirm Wil's location? =/\=

Hopper/Keehani: =/\= Response =/\=

She looked back down at Wil, shaking her head.

Vataix: ...so it's true. ::She took a deep breath.:: =/\= It's fine. Wil is here with me now back on Amity. =/\=

Hopper/Keehani: =/\= Response =/\=

Ukinix: Response

Aitas/Iko: Response

Vataix: =/\= We'll sort this all out once you're all back on Amity. For now, stay vigilant. =/\=

Hopper/Keehani: =/\= Response =/\=

Once the comline closed, Rivi looked over at Bec.

Vataix: Can you take him to get checked out by medical?

Iko: Response

Vataix: I'll be down there shortly. Tell Envoy Kizat to bring the station to red alert and call for any Starfleet reinforcement in the area.

Iko: Response

As Wil and the security officers left, leaving Rivi alone again with Aitas, she turned to the newest member of her staff.

Vataix: What do you know about the Hirogen?

Aitas: Response

TAG! TBC...
