Seleya: How about friends on the station? Any of your crewmates you are closer to than others?
Seleya broke off from her attack and returned to the first attack stance, giving Aitas a moment to recover if she needed. Returning to their casual conversation.
Aitas: Oh, a few. I’ve been planning to run cocktail events on occasion. Invite some of the senior staff. Have you met Robin yet? Or Keehani?
Seleya practiced her stances as they talked. Keeping herself warmed up, but the slight breather was nice to recover and prepare for the next short bout.
Seleya: I have met both of them, there was a debriefing after the mission.
Aitas: And Jakarn is still here; I’ll admit I wasn’t sure he’d linger.
Seleya perked up a bit. She had only met Jakarn briefly on Risa, but he was always one to leave an impression. Hearing that he was on the station now, Seleya had hoped she would get the chance to talk to him.
Seleya: I will have to try and run into him while I am here.
Aitas: One more round of practicing your attacks, and then you can take a break. Perhaps I can tell you about the local bars.
Seleya smirked and then went back into the attack stance, waiting for Aitas to position herself as well.
Seleya: Very well, I look forward to hearing your recommendations.
Seleya started this time with a feint, looking like she was going high again, but then went for Aitas’s core with her left akai and her right one went for Aitas’s sore leg, using her offhand knowing it wouldn’t have the same strength.
Aitas: Response
Seleya: Not going as easy on you this time.
Aitas: Response
Seleya: Yah, I need more practice with the off hand, I feel I am not as precise with it.
Seleya was much more used to keeping her right hand versatile, if this was her blade, to get more leverage, or get closer and attempt a grapple.
Aitas: Response
