Aitas: Risa, specifically. ::She slid the Horga’hn Hammer a little toward Keehani.:: Would you like to try this? It’s really supposed to be shared.

Keehani: Um-- ::chews bottom lip:: well, yes, ::shrug:: sure. ::running hand through hair:: Thank you.

Aitas: You’re very welcome. ::softly:: It’s a personal favorite.

Keehani took a sip, stirred it up, and then handed it back to Aitas.

Keehani: Aitas, you are an incredibly attractive person, in many ways, and I’m... well surprised is not the word, but... is this wise? Professionally speaking?

Aitas raised an eyebrow and set the drink down on the table between them.

Aitas: I’m told I have a variety of quite in-demand skills. I expect my career will manage. ::a brief smile:: I'd hate to let the chance slip by.

She wasn’t related to the Starfleet CO of the station, either.

Keehani: ::raising finger to T’Plutok, raised voice:: T’Plutok, if you don’t mind, an Old Fashioned please? ::turning back to Aitas, little smile:: I may need it.

Aitas returned the smile and leaned back, though Keehani leaned in in return shortly afterward.

It was an offer, after all. Not an expectation.

Keehani: So you and Jakarn... ::palms out:: fill me in. I could sense a connection, at the very least. Absolute truth, Aitas, I have an open mind.

Aitas paused a moment, slightly taken aback. There wasn’t anything going on that she’d describe as requiring an open mind. Still, she let her emotions seep through more openly. It was, in her experience, a perfectly normal part of the range of things. Jakarn was a good, long-term friend, and he'd seen Aitas at her worst more than once.

Rather had to, to save her life.

Aitas: Arecthera, Keehani. It's a common tradition around where I grew up.

The term literally meant ‘party guest’, though it specifically originated from a tradition of parties with a few close friends to celebrate the onset of the Phase. And related intimacies. ‘Friends with benefits’ wasn’t a terrible translation, though it rather lacked a few nuances.

Aitas: We drift into each other’s lives on occasion and then back to our usual orbits. ::She tucked an errant strand of hair behind the horga’hn she’d set behind her ear.:: We’d never work as anything else, but he thinks I’d benefit from finding a relationship that was a bit more…consistent as well.

Thus Jakarn arranging things so as to leave her and Keehani together. And Aitas couldn’t say she disagreed with his assessment.

Hopper: Response

T’Plutok: ::Placing perfectly symmetrical cocktail in front of Keehani:: Old Fashioned, as requested Consul. Consider this round goodwill, compliments of Three Stripes. ::To Robin and Aitas:: May I offer you a drink of you own?

Keehani blushed a little, eyeing what remained of the Horga’hn Hammer.

Aitas: An Andorian Sunset, please.

It sounded a pleasant contrast to her previous drink. Which perhaps she’d now have to finish on her own.

Hopper: Response

Aitas: ::to Robin:: I’m afraid you just missed Jakarn and Wil. They were off to investigate something about lawnmowers.

Keehani/Hopper: Response

Aitas: I wouldn’t be shocked if Jakarn came back knowing more about the station than I do.

She took a sip of what remained of the Horga’hn Hammer, twirling the glass so it caught the light for a moment.

Keehani/Hopper: Response

Aitas: We were just talking about relationship structures and Betazoid politics. I’m afraid I haven’t gotten to asking for mystery recommendations yet.

She’d need to set aside a bit of time to actually be able to read them, but perhaps she’d need to make that a priority.

Keehani/Hopper: Response
