((Cherry Blossoms Biome, Peace Park, Amity Outpost))
It was always the same: a mission would start out normally and then gradually develop into a challenge. Time and again, you had to push yourself to your limits, and not infrequently, even beyond them. All of this took a lot of energy. It always took a while for the burden and tension, which felt like it was weighing on your shoulders, to finally dissipate.
Sport was a good antidote to relieve this stress. Fortunately, the concussion wasn't too bad; everything else was just physical scratches that would also heal quickly. To clear her head, D’Cyra had resumed her running training. She usually ran counter-clockwise through the Peace park, letting her instincts guide her onto one of the smaller paths. Time and distance were irrelevant to her.
Her favourite place to run was the Cherry Blossoms Biome with all its beautiful cherry blossoms and small pagodas, which vaguely reminded her of home. Besides, the cherry blossoms always evoked a feeling of spring and new beginnings.
But D’Cyra was still lost in thought about the last mission and barely noticed her surroundings. As a result, she almost ran into a small group of gardeners and their equipment, which had never been there before. The gardeners cursed a little, and as she ran, she turned around to see if anything had happened. That was a mistake. Because at that moment, someone was coming towards her from the other direction, whom she hadn't seen, and a collision did indeed occur.
Varati: :: cursing, getting up again:: Argh, what a mess! I'm such a scatterbrain! I must apologize... As a historian, I far too often look at what lies behind me and not at what lies ahead...
D’Cyra looked at the woman opposite her, easily a foot taller than herself, with purple skin... Oh dear! That was the officer who had started the whole mission. What was her name again?
Seleya: Response
Varati: I hope you weren't hurt? ::pause:: We know each other, don't we? I think we met in the sick bay a few days ago… But it was very busy and unfortunately I can't remember your name.
Things had been really hectic there, and she had worried far too much about her work before finally falling asleep from exhaustion.
Seleya: Response
Now the memories slowly returned... and the veils of the past few days gradually lifted. But D’Cyra hadn't heard anything more than names and brief information.
Varati: Ah yes, now I remember! I am pleased to meet you. And yes, it was quite a mission for all of us, full of surprises. But how rude of me, I haven't even introduced myself yet: D'Cyra. D'Cyra of Varati. Science officer here on Amity. Freethinker, counterclockwise. :giggles::
Seleya: Response
She smiled gently back, pleased with the new acquaintance. It wasn't every day that someone happened to wander into the Delta Quadrant by chance.
Varati: And how are you liking it here on Amity? Have you been able to recover a bit from the stress of the last few days? Landing here in the Delta Quadrant must have been somewhat unexpected? …
