Robin hadn’t considered it before, but when she’d first found Bec ‘aloft’ in the bluegums, she’d had a bit of a hard fall out of the branches. The Sycamore grew taller and if Bec were to fall again, they might have to postpone their garden-plotting for a trip to the sickbay.

Bec, however, began climbing down competently. Robin let out a relieved sigh… Once she was low enough, Becsat down on a branch and leapt off it – landing on her feet like a nimble… possum… Robin patted her on the back.

Hopper: Nice work. We’ll take a peak at that spot by the lake first. That could also make irrigation a lot simpler too.

Iko: Let's go!

They began walking, Robin beginning to plan in her mind how they might draw water from the lake to water the garden. If the lake was stocked, the water might already have some nutritional value as well – fish fertilizer was an effective way to boost garden productivity, after all.

Hopper: You ever use a hand-pump? Like the old fashioned kind a lot of worlds developed during their agricultural phases?  ::Chuckling::  Then again, that’s probably unnecessarily quaint.

Bec shrugged. Robin shook her head and shrugged as well.

Hopper: Sometimes I feel nostalgic for a time that I never lived in. The bold and daring 2260s or the 1800s when even Earth had uncharted ‘worlds’ to explore… You ever think about what it would be like to have lived in another time? Or another place, maybe?

Bec nodded. Robin raised her eyebrows and offered an encouraging smile back.

Iko: I used to.

Hopper: If you could live anywhere, anywhen, where would it be? Future? Past?  ::Shaking her head in amusement::  Mirror Universe?

Iko: ::shaking head, smiling:: You will never let me live that one off will you? Look, if we do Mirror Universe, we do the real Mirror Universe, not some simulation that's probably very inaccurate.

Hopper: Oh, obviously!

Iko: I suppose to answer your question: Melbourne, Australia, April 2063.

Hopper: ::Surprised:: What? Not… Bozeman?

Iko: Not Montana, everyone was bloody in Montana. Too many people.

Hopper: I think Montana sounds nice! You know, Ensign Richards is from–  ::stifling a self-conscious laugh::  Ha… Haha… Yeah, I mean, you probably know. But I get what you’re saying. It’s tempting, but I think I’d pick the twenty-one-sixties. See the founding of the Federation… oO Not to mention Archer’s speech… Oo

Before she could expound any further, they arrived at their destination. Robin put her hands on her hips and looked on the site, nodding in approval.

Hopper: Hey, yeah! This seems great.  ::To Iko::  Good surveying!

Iko: Response

Hopper: I’ll pace out the perimeter and see how many plots’ll fit – maybe grab a water sample from the lake to run some tests on… But at a glance, yeah, this should work nicely.  ::Smiling::

Iko: Response

Robin walked into the center of the little clearing, tucking her hands into the pockets of her overalls.

Hopper: Thanks for your help today, Bec – and the unexpected company. You know, I think I understand why you wouldn’t really choose to live anywhere else. Amity’s a special place, huh?

Iko: Response

Hopper: I wasn’t sure how easy it would be to get to know people here… Needless to say my expectations have been exceeded. ::Smiling::  If you ever need anything, let me know. We can look out for each other.

Iko: Response?
