They continued to walk and it wasn’t long before they were out of the Medical Centre and heading towards a destination for food.
Nevark: So I have to as you spent time in FDC and Starfleet. Which do you prefer?
Orrey: A loaded question I think. I joined Starfleet while still in my rotations as a med student. I wouldn’t recommend it. That was a long time ago. I mean when our Dear Leader Ukinix was graduating the academy I was spending a year out of time in an alternate reality where the Dominion won the war. ::laughing:: Of course the FDC isn’t any easier is it?
She walked into the turbolift and turned to face im as he joined her. She was a little surprised that he had decided on Starfleet whilst still a med student she couldn’t imagine the workload that must have been.
Orrey: There are less restrictions in the FDC but I still think I prefer Starfleet. ::smirking:: It is what I was bred for.
Newark: It feels that way for so many people. Like this si what they were meant to do.
Orrey: ::considering her:: You have a rough time with someone at home? The comment earlier about “not what others want me to be”.
Newark: ::chuckling:: Guess you can’t keep secrets from a counsellor.
Orrey: We both have the streak of seeing what others hide. Can’t keep secrets now can we? I can even share that I have something of a holoaddiction I have to manage. I used to live in them when not on duty. It wasn’t until I ended up on a smaller ship that only had two holodecks on board, I had to force myself away. Cold turkey. We both know how healthy that is. ::chuckling again::
Layla joined his chuckle.
Nevark: We advise those who come and see us, that doesn’t mean we remember that advice for ourselves. That's why we keep each other busy as well.
Orrey: Response
Nevark: I mean I can be plain. I grew up in a very very traditional household. Only speak through telepathy traditional household. It has been an adjustment and a realisation that I don’t fit the traditional mold they want for me. I broke that just by joining the Academy. Sooner or later they will get over that.
Orrey: Response
Layla laughed.
Nevark: Honestly the first time I held a conversation fully with someone without using telepathy I think they thought I was a mute because it was so bizarre I didn’t really know how to have a conversation like that. But it has gotten a lot better now. ::Slight pause:: or at least I hope it has.
The doors opened then as she finished speaking and she exited the turbolift into the busy mezzanine. She was taking it all in as Orrey’s voice broke her from her thoughts.
