((Amity Outpost – Security Section))
Having completed her initial assessment with the Chief Medical Officer, it wasn’t far to Robin’s next destination – the Chief of Security’s Office. Rather than return another day, she hoped to get two of her clearances done back-to-back.
Hopper wasn’t familiar with Iovianus, but a quick glance at his personnel file had told her plenty. Hopper was looking forward to meeting the Magna Roman. She could only imagine what interesting stories he would have of his time serving aboard the USS Juneau in the Aavaro Wilds – an area of space which rivaled The Shoals for their lawless mystique.
Buzzing with excitement, Robin entered the Security Section and found a number of junior security personnel preparing for their shift. She waved and offered a friendly smile.
Hopper: ‘Morning! ::Pausing mid-stride and turning to address the nearest Officer:: Sorry to bug you, but you wouldn’t happen to know if Commander Iovianus is in right now? I have to stop by for my security clearance and I didn’t think to check ahead of time.
Iko: Response
Hopper: Thank you for the help, Lieutenant…?
Iko: Response
Robin was thankful to find another friendly face – Amity certainly seemed full of them.
Hopper: ::Smiling:: Nice to meet you. Don’t worry about the pips. Call me Robin or Hopper, or anything along those lines.
Iko: Response
((OOC – We can continue to backsim a little bit here, if you like))
With the junior officers heading out for their patrols, Hopper strode forward towards the frosted glass doors of Iovianus’ office. Once it was within arm’s reach, she pressed the door chime and waited for the Security Chief’s response.
Iovianus: Response
Hopper: Good morning, Sir. Lieutenant Hopper – new Science Officer. I was told I’d need to visit your for my security clearances and, well, I was in the neighborhood. Do you have a minute?
Iovianus: Response
As the door slid open, Hopper stepped inside with a warm smile on her face. She tucked her hands behind her back and stood at a fairly casual ‘attention’. Much like the full-leg version of the Starfleet uniform, she’d always found the rigidity of military posturing uncomfortable – in part because of her rural colonial upbringing, and in part because of her prosthetic leg – which disagreed with staying put for too long.
Hopper: Pleasure to meet you. You have a very welcoming team. oO I have so many questions! Oo
She decided to wait until the next time they met to inundate the poor man with her myriad questions about the Aavaro Wilds and instead offer her own history as an open book – which she hoped would serve as a ‘fair trade’.
Hopper: I’m happy to answer any questions you might have, of course. ::Chuckling:: You never know who might have spent time in a New Zealand penal colony!
Iovianus: Response
