((Bridge, USS Independence-B))
Aitas: Has there been any reaction from the Vaadwaur vessel?
She turned her attention to the viewscreen, though she didn’t step far enough to the side to put herself out of easy reach of one handhold or another.
Seleya: No response, still watching.
Ukinix: Get us out of this gravity well! Can we warp out of here?
Orrey: I wouldn’t recommend trying.
Seleya: The gravity well would destabilize the warp barrier, we will need to use impulse.
Aitas simply inclined her head. She was no pilot, nor an engineer. Her technical knowledge was rather more specialized.
Helm: No response! I’ve lost control-- and propulsion.
Ukinix: Well this area of space is knackered then. =/\= Ukinix to all hands. Brace for crossover into underspace, I repeat, brace for crossover-- =/\=
Aitas braced herself again, and caught sight of a small smear of green blood on the back of Wil’s chair. A minor injury; it was already closing.
The lights flickered out, then switched to the emergency ones.
She could hear Seleya take a long breath.
Ukinix: --into underspace.
Helm: Navigation systems can’t pinpoint our location.
Aitas didn’t release her grip. That was unfortunate, but, strictly speaking, unsurprising.
Orrey: Call out. All of you.
Seleya: Still not dead.. ::She paused taking in a deep breath as she checked her console:: The structural damage collapsed the aft torpedo tubes, they are unresponsive. Shields are down to 70% but are holding steady.
Aitas: Present; minor cuts and bruises. Maintaining contact with Fureri.
Orrey: Hull breach Sector 3 Deck 4, that we expected though. No losses there.
Aitas: And what damage that we didn’t expect?
The bridge looked shaken, battered, but not completely out of commission.
Orrey: We didn’t account for radiation spikes, major radiation leaks in Sections 6 and 7. Large injury reports, filtering in but some systems aren’t functioning so I could be mission some numbers.
Aitas: I can send Fureri to scout for the injured, if necessary.
There were flickering lights where the bot was, but the consoles generally seemed to be intact in that portion of the ship.
Ukinix: Response
Seleya: Captain, I am detecting another gravimetric disturbance.
Aitas had now left multiple hand impressions around the bridge, but given that she hadn’t been thrown across the space she would count that as sufficient.
Ukinix/Orrey: Response
Seleya: It appears the Vaadwaur are still following us.
Aitas: Unfortunate. Communications are still sporadic; I will see what adjustments can be made.
She spared Wil a glance, and another for the state of the ship, then straightened up and moved to one of the less damaged consoles.
Ukinix/Orrey: Response
A very welcome voice filled the bridge.
Saavei: =/\= Saavei to Bridge, you have maneuvering thrusters. Impulse power will be restored shortly. =/\=
Aitas: =/\= Thank you. The Vaadwaur have followed us in. Do you need any additional support? =/\=
That last was mostly for Taelon, who understood Fureri’s uses more than most.
Taelon/Wong/Shanaak/Bridge: =/\= Response =/\=
Aitas fell quiet for a moment, focusing on what Fureri saw. Perhaps with a few decades of practice she could manage the bot without pulling too much attention away from elsewhere.
Saavei: =/\= Bridge, impulse power has been restored via the secondary couplings. =/\=
Taelon/Wong/Shanaak/Bridge: =/\= Response =/\=
Aitas: =/\= There are a few injured personnel near you; I can direct them your way. =/\=
Aitas blinked; she could see the injuries through Fureri’s eyes; blood and bruises, a broken arm, probable burns from the damage to a uniform.
Taelon/Wong/Shanaak/Bridge: =/\= Response =/\=
She turned her head slightly toward the viewscreen; a few strands of hair had fallen loose and spilled down over her cheek.
The rift they’d come through still hung at the edges of the space, showing a glimmer of proper stars beyond.
Aitas: Is the rift still large enough for the Trenvonn vessel?
Ukinix/Orrey/Seleya: Response
The console flickered; she frowned and entered a quick series of adjustments.
Aitas: We’ll need more significant repairs before we have much range on comms; they'd have to be very close.
She knelt down, pushed a section of the console back into alignment, then stood again.
Ukinix/Orrey/Seleya: Response
The space behind the Vaadwaur ship turned oily, almost glimmering. The space rippled; something slipped out from the side of the space they were in, almost as if they stood at the center of an ocean suddenly drawing up into a hurricane.
Aitas: Is that a new tunnel? It appears…deeply unstable.
Ukinix/Orrey/Seleya: Response
