((Bridge, USS Independence-B))
((The comms tag Wong added in were back-simmed prior to this cut off, so that is why I didn’t include them. And fixed the bridge tags))
Seleya: It appears the Vaadwaur are still following us.
Not great news, they were worse off than before and now without any backup.
Aitas: Unfortunate. Communications are still sporadic; I will see what adjustments can be made.
Ukinix: Jansen, quick scan of Aitas for me? And Seleya after that, given the rough day she’s been through.
Seleya appreciated the concern, though it was not the worst day she has had, it was getting up there. Still she was still capable.
Orrey: Working on it. Then I am checking on you.
Saavei: =/\= Saavei to Bridge, you have maneuvering thrusters. Impulse power will be restored shortly. =/\=
Aitas: =/\= Thank you. The Vaadwaur have followed us in. Do you need any additional support? =/\=
Taelon/Shanaak/Orrey/Ukinix/Aitis: =/\= Response =/\=
Saavei: =/\= Bridge, impulse power has been restored via the secondary couplings. =/\=
Ukinix: =/\= Thanks Ensign, we’ll start moving down the corridor ::nods to helm to follow instruction.:: =/\=
Helm: Aye, sir.
((Keeping Wongs tags in here because it looks like they may have missed them in their post. In case they want to add them later in a repost or their next sim))
Taelon/Wong/Shanaak: =/\= Response =/\=
Aitas: =/\= There are a few injured personnel near you; I can direct them your way. =/\=
Ukinix: =/\= What is your status, are you all healthy? Ikaia? =/\=
Taelon/Wong/Shanaak: =/\= Response =/\=
Ukinix: =/\= Let’s get everyone and everything patched up, the Vaadwaur have followed us into underspace. We’ll remain at red alert. Ukinix out. =/\=
Aitas: Is the rift still large enough for the Trenvonn vessel?
Orrey: ::doing a cursory scan with the tricorder wand:: Let me know the second you feel anything. For now you are doing just fine and I assume it is because we are so far away from the damage.
Seleya nodded, from the sounds of it, things could change, if they took more damage.
Seleya: Aye Doctor, I will take that for now.
Ukinix: They were 15 minutes away, it depends if it stays open for that long. Can we hail them from in here?
Aitas: We'll need more significant repairs before we have much range on comms; they'd have to be very close.
Seleya had to wonder if the Trenvonn would even risk coming in here to begin with.
Orrey: You are as stable as ever my friend.
Seleya: Sensors are detecting a new anomaly.
Aitas: Is that a new tunnel? It appears...deeply unstable.
Ukinix: Let’s not find out. Helm, get us away from that thing as fast as we can.
Helm: Commander, there’s three corridor entrances we can choose from.
Orrey: 33% eh, we have faced worse odds out here.
They may have faced worse odds, but they were still unfavorable. Seleya could never understand how some humans were so relaxed against bad odds.
Ukinix: Any sign or signal from the Daintree?
Orrey: Nothing yet but with the comms still being patched together we may be able to get a signal out before they can. If we came through in this state they can’t be much better off.
Seleya: But given there is no wreckage on our sensors at the moment, we can take that as a good sign.
Aitas: Response
Ukinix: Let’s see if the Vaadwaur are here to help or hinder us. Hail them.
Helm: Aye commander, hailing.
Ysal: =/\= Response =/\=
Ukinix: =/\= We didn’t want to come in here this way. Besides, we’re in neutral space, the Vaadwaur don’t own these corridors. =/\=
Seleya sighed, that was probably a very bad thing to say to the Vaadwaur who are extremely territorial over their underspace corridors.
Ysal: =/\= Response =/\=
Ukinix: =/\= What happened almost forty years ago has no bearing on today. =/\=
Seleya was almost wishing it was Aitas speaking to them instead of the Captain. Provoking them was not helping now that the Independence was in the Vaadwaur backyard, and were now potentially cut off from Trenvonn back-up. She was preparing herself for a fight.
Ysal: =/\= Response =/\=
Ukinix: =/\= We are not aggressors, but we will defend ourselves if we have to. =/\=
Ukinix: By making the rift mad, I think we may have also made the Vaadwaur mad.
Ukinix: =/\= Bridge to Engineering. What’s our warp status? =/\=
Taelon/Saavei: =/\= Response =/\=
Seleya’s sensors rang as she saw a power spike from the Vaadwaur frigate, before she would shout a warning, a volley from their phase cannons hit their shields rocking the ship.
Ukinix: Okay, so apparently what happened almost forty years ago *does* affect today. Seleya, return fire, target their weapons.
Seleya: Aye, Captain.
Seleya got to work, inputting an attach pattern, sadly the Vaadwaur were out of the forward arc for the Cannons and fore torpedoes, she would have to make due with just the phaser array for now.
Ukinix: Which corridor likely leads us back to anywhere near Amity?
Orrey: Since we were studying the central one I would wager on either side one.
The ship shook again as more volley came in. Seleya wished they would just choose a corridor, they were taking a beating.
Seleya: I think our greatest concern should be finding the nearest exit. We are at a severe disadvantage, and if our shields go down, Underspace is going to tear through our hull. Their weapons have already brought our shields down to 50%, I recommend evasive maneuvers -immediately-.
Ukinix/Aitas: Response?
Orrey: Seleya, I am opening up the science sensors to your targeting controls as well. We might be able to take them out of the fight. I don’t think it would hurt anyone’s feelings if we collapsed their torpedo tubes as well even this fight out perhaps.
Seleya tensed her jaw, the doctor made it sound that easy right now. Seleya only wished it was so. They were already moving to where the Defiant would not be at its best, and without the aft torpedoes system damage would be difficult.
Seleya: I can do my best, Doctor, thank you. They are moving around to our aft.
Aitas: Response
Orrey: I am widening the area shut off from the hull breach. If we have to take a hit try to take it there. Wil, can you reroute those power relays away from those areas so the EMP just goes dark?
Ukinix/Aitas: Response?
The ship rocked once again as more phase cannon volley came in, hitting the shields. Some of the consoles on the bridge sparked from the energy feedback.
Seleya: Diverting shields to the aft section, they are holding at 40%. ::Seleya paused as more alerts went off on her console.:: Photon torpedoes incoming! Heading 180 mark 15, Helm evasive maneuver pattern delta 3 now!
She may have stepped out of line calling out the evasive pattern instead of the Captain, but the torpedoes were coming in too fast to risk further damage to the ship.
Ukinix/Aitas/Orrey: Response?
Seleya: Torpedoes avoided, but be prepared for more. My suspicion that they can’t use phase torpedoes here may be true. But Captain, we can’t keep them at our rear, I can’t return torpedoes salvos, and the Defiant cannons are fixed to the front. Our phasers beams are doing minimal damage to their shields, they are only at 90%. We need to either make a run for it out of their range or underspace, or turn and take our chances in a fight.
Though Seleya did not put the ship at good odds in a fight already damaged, it would only take one unlucky hit and the Independence would repeat what happened to the Vaadwaur ship Seleya was on before.
