Wong: I think I’d like to test your vision first, though. I want to at least eliminate a possibility.

Orrey: ::shrugging:: It makes sense. ::glancing around the office before pointing:: That bit of wall by the door would be far enough away to project the chart. She can stand back here by my chair.

Iko: What’d’ya want me to look at?

Ikaia indicated the chart Orrey projected.

Wong: Let’s just work our way through the rows and see how you do staring with the first one.

Orrey: Remember it is individual leader forms.

Wong: If you feel like you need to take your time, please do so.

Iko: Bottom line: Q… K… T… D… and J.

Ikaia nodded. So far so good. It was the numbers that needed reading next.

Wong: Alright. How about the next line with the numbers.

Orrey: Response

Iko: And those numbers are fifty-two and… seventy-three.

That certainly ruled out dyscalculia as well. So it didn’t seem to be her vision. 

Wong: Great! So nothing appears blurry or fuzzy to you?

Orrey: Response

Iko: No, they’re not blurry. Nothing’s blurry. 

Ikaia nodded again.

Wong: Alright. That’s good to know. Soo… let’s try something else? 

Orrey: Response

He walked over to Orrey and indicated his projected chart. He wanted to start Iko off with something simple. He also wanted to rule out other learning disorders as well.

Wong: I’m going to get you to read a few lines from Toby the Targ’s Wonderful Day Off.

Iko/Orrey: Response.

Ikaia looked at everyone with a light hearted shrug as he set up the next chart for Iko to read.

Wong: What? Everyone loves a little Toby! Please tell me I’m not the only one here who read these growing up!

Iko/Orrey: Response.

Wong: Ahem! Anyways, we’re starting simple here. Can you read those lines for me, Iko?

Iko/Orrey: Response.
