Orrey: Again I can see the meaning there but still…something like this isn’t very resource intensive.
Wong: Would you believe this looked far worse before I started?
Orrey: ::laughing again:: Oh absolutely. Mind if I take a look
Wong: I suppose if you want to have a closer look by all means feel free to do so.
Jansen had stood up when Ikaia handed over a PADD with his medical chart pulled up on it.
Orrey: What’s this for?
Wong: A few things have changed since you last looked at that. For one thing, I learned the hard way that I'm allergic to Targ dander and I have a particularly bad intolerance to Targ meat. Basically, Targs aren't my friends.
Orrey: ::scrolling over the information:: Well I know what to cross off your gift list then…right. This all else seems to be pretty standard.
Ikaia watched Orrey move to join him behind the desk. Or at least watch him as best as he could. His injured eye was giving him trouble.
Orrey: Sit back in your chair and close your eyes. Let me take a few swipes at it.
He leaned back him his chair and made himself comfortable. Closing his eyes, he certainly couldn’t see Orrey. But he could hear him.
Wong: Alright. I hope this helps. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to make this easier.
Orrey: ::picking up the dermal regenerator:: Your chart did remind me of something.
Wong: Hm? What’s that?
Orrey: ::starting to work:: How when I was a CMO it was so difficult to make sure everyone had up to date medical records.
Ikaia could hear the quiet buzz of the dermal regenerator as it started to pass over his closed eyes.
Wong: It still is. I’m still chasing people to keep their records up to date. Some people are an absolute challenge for one reason or another.
Orrey: Response
Wong: I try to keep my own medical records up to date. Whenever there’s a new vaccine, I want to be the first one up for it. The more difficult ones to get are the Klingon ones. But that’s because there’s so few vaccines available for Klingon viruses. I think it comes down to the philosophy on Qo’nos about how medicine and disease are treated. They just don’t make a lot of vaccines.
Orrey: Response
Wong: Well…. There is one other thing - you probably already have seen it in my records but I do carry a portion of the Augment Virus in my DNA. it’s what’s causing the blond hair.
Orrey: Response
Wong: It’s…. It’s been an issue for me. I haven’t told anyone else about the virus in my DNA outside of Starfleet Medical. I had to report it to them before I started my post here on Amity. It was determined that it didn’t pose a threat. But it still concerns me. I don’t know what this means for finding my biological family or if I’m going to find more surprises like this one. I don’t know if I’m going to be okay with what I find.
