((Transporter Room 2 - USS Kepler))

Ikaia had only heard of situations like this out of text books and history classes - where one culture adopts the ideas and concepts of another through their own lens. It used to be referred to as a “cargo cult” in ancient times. Although the term had long since fallen out of favour. If anything, this current meeting with the UAW was a case study on why the prime directive exists. Although now, the cat has long since been let out of the bag.

Wong: Alright. Let’s review here - if reports are as accurate as they claim to be, we are likely walking into a scenario with an unknown pathogen.

Which was, of course, why he was in an EV suit. It was easier to prevent contact with said unknown pathogen. He strongly insisted on everyone to do the same. At least it would prevent another vector for the disease.

Lor/Varati: Response

And then there was one more issue.

A personal one.

He was leading an away team. It wasn’t that he had never done such a thing. In fact, he has. But it came with something much different this time. It was that his own self doubt was weighing on his shoulders - imperceptible to everyone else except himself.

oOI can’t make a mistake…..Oo

Wong: Also, that very much means no touching anything that looks well…. Weird. If it looks like something Barberra would stick her hands on, don’t touch it.

Lor/Varati: Response

Lor was someone Ikaia didn’t know very well. But he did know Varati. And he was all but too aware of her low impulse control. He was certainly going to have to keep an eye on her.

Wong: Any questions?
