Ambassador Rivi Vataix: Welcome Wagon

Once Rivi made her way down to the airlock, she found two security officers from Amity Outpost had already taken up position on either side of the door. Despite her Betazoid nobility upbringing, all this pageantry was going to take a little getting used to. Although Betazed had been hardened a bit after the Dominion War and then the Ohmallera attack, guards and "military" ceremony weren't really as much of a tradition as it was in Earth and Andorian culture that the Federation seemed so influenced by.

After Rivi and her entourage passed through the open door, they were greeted by two men whose faces she recognized from the crew dossier she'd been studying. On the left stood Dr. Jansen Orrey, an envoy of the Federation Diplomatic Corps who was to serve as her deputy chief of mission and counselor for cultural and press affairs. Beside him was another man, Lt. Commander Cassian Iovianus, a Magna Roman who was her new chief of security. With his chiseled jawline and the scar that ran across his face and left eye, he certainly looked the part.

Orrey/Iovianus: Response

Vataix: Greets, gentlemen. May I introduce...

She turned to point out the others in the party. There were more from the Thor she was sure would follow, but for now, she and Wil were joined by...

Vataix: Commodore Kells, captain of the Thor, along with his first officer Commander Teller, security officer Lieutenant Richards, and Major Greaves.

Kells: Response

Richards: Response

Greaves: Response

Orrey/Iovianus: Response

Vataix: And of course this is our own first officer and Starfleet attache, Lt. Commander Ukinix.

Orrey/Iovianus: Response

Rivi turned back to Orrey and Iovianus to update them on her plans.

Vataix: I've invited Commodore Kells and his crew to enjoy the station's amenities. I'd also like to give a special tour for them. How soon can we get that ready, Dr. Orrey?

Orrey: Response

Vataix: Commander Iovianus, anything we should be aware of in the meantime regarding station security?

Iovianus: Response

Rivi nodded and looked over at Wil, an idea emerging.

Vataix: Wil, I'd like you and Dr. Orrey to make arrangements with the various Delta Quadrant species delegations on the station to hold a cultural arts and food festival on the Grand Mezzanine. I think it will be the perfect welcoming event for both the station's official opening and for our guests to enjoy.

Ukinix: Response

Orrey: Response

The ambassador looked back over at the Commodore and his officers.

Vataix: While they get ready, please again let your crew know they are free to go and visit where they please.

Kells: Response

Teller: Response

Richards: Response

Greaves: Response

Before everyone left, Rivi called out to Kells specifically.

Vataix: Commodore, do you think I could ask you to accompany me to my new office?

Kells: Response
