Seleya: At this time the Vaadwaur ship is maintaining distance at least.

Aitas: They’ve likely noticed the Trenvonn vessel by now. 

Hopefully that would keep the Vaadwaur away for now.

Ukinix: Let’s hope so. Let’s not also fool ourselves into thinking they are our allies. They have their own interests.

Seleya: I have the shield harmonics rotation protocol ready. Weapons are not on powered, but are on standby. I do have the targeting data downloaded from Operation Brightstar. -Hopefully- we will be able to shoot them down before they reach us. 

Seleya wanted to emphasize hopefully. They were relying on outdated information in this case. All these preparations could do nothing for all they knew.

Orrey: Everyone brace for the failed attempt.

Seleya grabbed her console bracing herself for the jolt as they prepared their failed attempt.

Aitas: Bracing.

Seleya’s sore muscles flared with pain as she felt the ship shake, she let out a small pained grunt but it was over Seleya quickly got to work to see what had been damaged in the attempt, trying to distract herself from the aching pain.

Orrey: Structural integrity is holding. Shields took a jolt but recovering nicely. Hull stress contained to Deck Four…mostly Aft…could be from the engines still receiving power.

Seleya nodded, her own readings also confirmed this, and it looks like the Independence crew was already on top of things. 

Orrey: Sending the alert to leave stressed sections once quick repairs are done. Then we will close off sections three through five and reroute traffic incase of failure during the real jump.

Ukinix: ::tapping at console:: Righto. Crew status?

Orrey: Not receiving any reports of injuries. Everyone knew their job and stood their ground.

Aitas: And the state of the rift?

Seleya: Seems as stable as it can be at this moment.

 

Ukinix: Okay, then let’s circle back, and try it for real this time. Helm--

Suddenly Seleya heard alerts going as gravimetric sensors were going crazy. 

Aitas: Secondary rift opening! Brace!

The second buck took Seleya off guard as the pain flared up once again, now jamming her shoulder into a strut near her seat.

Ukinix: Red Alert! What’s caused that? Did we make the rift mad? Everyone okay?

Orrey: I was alright now I am questioning things.

Seleya: Still alive.

Aitas: More convincing than intended, perhaps. My injuries are minor. How long until the Trenvonn ship arrives?

Ukinix: Helm get us out of here. Jansen, check if they’re okay.

Orrey: Right on it.

Aitas: Has there been any reaction from the Vaadwaur vessel?

 

Seleya: No response, still watching.

Ukinix: Get us out of this gravity well! Can we warp out of here?

 

Orrey: I wouldn’t recommend trying.

Seleya: The gravity well would destabilize the warp barrier, we will need to use impulse.

Aitas: Response

 

Helm: No response! I’ve lost control-- and propulsion.

 

Ukinix: Well this area of space is knackered then. =/\= Ukinix to all hands. Brace for crossover into underspace, I repeat, brace for crossover-- =/\=

Seleya grabbed onto the console as the ship shook as it was pulled into underspace. Her whole body tensed as they got pulled in and then suddenly it stopped. Seleya let out a long breath, wishing she had asked the doctor’s earlier for some pain meds to keep on hand.  

 

Ukinix: --into underspace.

 

Helm: Navigation systems can’t pinpoint our location.

 

Orrey: Call out. All of you.

Seleya: Still not dead.. ::She paused taking in a deep breath as she checked her console:: The structural damage collapsed the aft torpedo tubes, they are unresponsive. Shields are down to 70% but are holding steady.

Aitas: Response

Orrey: Hull breach Sector 3 Deck 4, that we expected though. No losses there.

Aitas: Response?

Orrey: We didn’t account for radiation spikes, major radiation leaks in Sections 6 and 7. Large injury reports, filtering in but some systems aren’t functioning so I could be mission some numbers.

Just great, Seleya thought. The radiation was what was causing her Palladium levels to spike earlier. Hopefully the bridge was contained, she didn’t want her body to start poisoning itself again. 

Ukinix/Aitas: Response?

Seleya: Captain, I am detecting another gravimetric disturbance.

Seleya put the video feed on the view screen as another rift seemed to be opening. 

Ukinix/Aitas/Orrey: Response?

Seleya: It appears the Vaadwaur are still following us.
