((Medical Facility, Trenvonn Ship O’Ran - 20 minutes later))
Much of Ikaia’s interactions with the Trenvonn hadn’t been directly across from a live one. If anything, he had far more encounters with their technology and much of that had been less than pleasant. And now he was here among them. Given how short they were, he felt like a giant. He towered over them. And the thing was, he was by no means the tallest of the crew. That honour belonged to Taelon who he vowed he’d never play basketball against should he ever feel that urge.
Yrnans: I have determined that several of your internal organs have suffered considerable damage. I have telemetry, but no answers on how best to treat them. What is your-- how do you feel?
Seleya: Like my blood is molten steel.
As he walked through the door, he caught sight of his patient. Another Starfleet officer who he had never met before. And given that he was going to be her primary care provider, it was going to be one hell of an introduction.
Naarax: Lieutenant Junior Grade Seleya of Khanda. It seems the High Council have made the rare move of allowing your colleagues into our space.
Naarax: You may treat your colleague as needed, and then return to neutral space as soon as possible, such that we may return to our studies. A decision will be made by the High Council as to whether Seleya of Khanda can return with you.
Ikaia raised an eyebrow at everything that had been said. Especially the last part - if Seleya could return with them.
oOSounds suspiciously like she’s their prisoner….Oo
He wasn’t going to simply leave her behind after her treatment. But perhaps he could try to extract her on medical grounds? Perhaps that could be a way to smuggle her out? It would have to be on something particularly clever.
Nevark: We will work to the best of our abilities.
Wong: I’m going to need to have a look at my patient first. I don’t quite know what I’m walking into yet.
He walked over towards Seleya and crouched down next to her.
Yrnans: I can share my telemetry thus far with you.
Nevark: Hello, I am Layla. Can you tell me anything we need to know straight away?
Seleya: Yes, I need you to find out what’s causing my Palladium levels to spike and get it below 250 ng/ml. Do not use any sort of iron infusion, iron will just make my levels spike more. And make sure they get all the internal bleeding.
At least she was conscious and talking. They were already ahead of the game.
Wong: Response
Nevark: First orders?
Wong: We need to start filtering her blood to get the Palladium levels down. I’m going to need the electrophoretic dialysis unit. It should be our medkits if you want to get that ready.
Ikaia started opening up his medkit too. In most cases, stopping the bleeding would have been paramount. But in a very strange twist, bleeding was what was keeping her alive currently. He pulled his tricorder out to give her a scan.
Wong: I’m also going to need you to load up her medical file on a PADD. See if you can find anything important such as allergies or past history.
oOOr something we can use to extract Seleya….Oo
Nevark/Yrnans: Response
Seleya: As the doctor said ::gesturing to Yrnans:: I already have internal damage, but wasting time repairing the damage isn’t going to do anything with my blood actively poisoning my own body.
Wong: Currently, bleeding is the one thing that’s keeping you alive right now. It’s giving us a fighting chance against the Palladium buildup.
Nevark//Yrnans: Response
Seleya: For the love of gods, please tell me you have painkillers.
Now that was a given and she didn’t need to tell him twice. He pulled one of the painkillers from the medkit.
Wong: Yes, we do. Never leave home without em!
Nevark/Yrnans: Response
With that, he pressed the hypo into her neck.
Wong: Any better?
Nevark/Seleya/Yrnans: Response
Ikaia started to affix the electrophoretic dialysis unit to Seleya.
Wong: And there we go - another fighting chance. But that still leaves us with the mystery as to why it’s spiking.
Nevark/Seleya/Yrnans: Response
Wong: While I’m working here, can you tell us what happened when your Palladium levels started to spike? I’m assuming it’s whatever’s connected to your injuries at this point.
Of course, that was a cautious assumption. And certainly not one set in stone.
Nevark/Seleya/Yrnans: Response
