((Level 23, Science and Research Centre, Amity Outpost))
Level 23 wasn't Dezzie's home, but today the little area about fungi had intrigued her. She was however, about to head back to the botany levels, but instead, she'd run into a couple of people who would hopefully become new mates.
Taelon: Ah, hello!
Galanis: ::awkwardly clearing their throat:: Good morning.
Dezzie gave the two a big smile.
Zh'Dograk-Zeth: Oh g'day darls! What are you two kids up to?
Taelon: Oh, I’m, ah, Lieutenant Taelon, from the USS Gorkon. Lieutenant Galanis was going to show me the Robotics labs…?
Galanis: Yes, I was, but I don’t believe we’ve met either. Lieutenant Junior Grade Niev Galanis.
Zh'Dograk-Zeth: So you’re Niev, ay? It’s nice to finally meet you. ::hand on chest:: I’m Dezzie.
Galanis: It isn’t all that uncommon to see new faces in the SRC. It’s a fairly communal facility, and a rather large one. Are you here to study anything in particular yourself?
Zh’Dograk-Zeth: Was just looking at how I might be able to come up with a fertiliser that’ll have my patch of Robin’s communal garden growing the best. ::with a smirk:: The XO may have a bloody good green-thumb, but I can get competitive when I wanna be.
The two made their way out of the lift, and Dezzie found herself being the nosy old woman she was, eyeing the little bot that followed Taelon around like a well-trained pet. ‘Course, this was not the first kind of bot, she’d seen a couple of others around, but the Andorian woman had a certain obnoxious curiosity at times, that often led her into meddling with stuff that was none of her business. Though, since that time with Admiral whats-his-name she was a little more aware of when she really shouldn’t be a stickybeak.
‘Course, knowing she shouldn't wasn't the same as making sure she didn't…
Galanis: Well, I don’t mean to delay your departure, though you’re welcome to accompany us if you’re curious. I can’t claim to be an expert on the projects and equipment in Robotics and Neurology, but I’m familiar enough with where everything is.
Taelon: Ah, yes, it’d be lovely to have others along.
Zh’Dograk-Zeth: I'm not busy. ::gesturing out:: Lead the way.
Niev turned and began walking the group down the corridor. Dezzie smiled at the two, admiring both the SRC level, and her companions’ height.
Galanis: Given such… specific fields of interest and mutual acquaintances, Lieutenant Taelon, I’m very curious what your speciality is.
Taelon: Oh! Ah - well - perhaps it’s, um, predictable, but I’m, a cybernetics and robotics specialist. With, um, a lot of overlap into neuroscience, unsurprisingly…
Zh'Dograk-Zeth: So ::rodding towards ARIA:: this is your doing, ay?
Galanis: Response
Taelon: Ah - majored in Exotech, technically, but you, um, know how it is…your major tends to be where you started, and all that…::He cleared his throat:: Um, what about you?
Zh'Dograk-Zeth: Agriculture, mainly. All the kids grew up and took over work on the block on earth and I had to go find something new to entertain me-self with.
She chuckled to herself, and turned to the Gorkon man.
Zh’Dograk-Zeth: For a while there I thought me eldest was gonna go down your route, building little robots ‘n things.
Galanis: Response
Taelon: Oh, you’ve seen Fureri! It’s a more modern style, but it’d adapted well to Aitas so far. I need to, um, do a check in with her and see how her implant has been doing. I’m hoping the Neuroscience labs here might have equipment I can use for that...
Galanis: Response
Zh’Dograk-Zeth: Then let's have a look-see, shall we?
Galanis/Taelon: Response
They made their way into a room, a room that Dezzie had never seen before, though by pulling out draws and rummaging around what was in there she probably made it look like she did.
Zh’Dograk-Zeth: What'd’ya need?
Galanis/Taelon: Response
Zh’Dograk-Zeth: That's them ah…
Dezzie clicked her fingers a couple of times, thinking. She really did not have a very good idea about what they were actually after.
Galanis/Taelon: Response
Zh’Dograk-Zeth: Nah, I got no idea darl. But that's half the fun of science! ::handing Niev a large piece of random equipment:: here, hold onto this for me, would ya?
Dezzie was then looking through all the little containers that had been behind what she'd handed Niev, to see if any of them were something that could be useful.
Galanis/Taelon: Response
