(( Briefing Room, Zumaris High Command ))

Aitas: It would give you a much stronger resource with which to bargain, whether with the Vaadwaur, the UAW, or any others.

Ilid had an idea but would it be enough of a push.

Zakrem: We have been doing it for a number of centuries. We have naturally harmonic ways to not only mine it but synthesize it and recrystalize used dilithium. Those are things we can help with after this incident to prevent this from reoccuring. No weapons needed.

The nod he got from Aitas showed the diplomat followed his thinking. It was a slow process to find points for a team to gel around.

Byu’I’Vera: If the Federation would assist in finding the amount of dilithium we could mine without causing permanent damage, that would be appreciated. I imagine your scans are more sophisticated than ours.

Aitas: Quite possible. There is a nearby world we’re in contact with, Uwe II, that also has conducted particular research on the subject. We would wish to give you multiple options as to how to approach the dilithium.

The Uwezo, he had breezed through that more recent mission log in favor of the older foundational ones.

Zakrem: A friendly face you might find in the neighborhood. Considering the propaganda campaign against you.

Moore: Response

Byu’Vera: In case combat still continues. Is there technology that prevents them from scanning our planet? Preventing them getting accurate data for orbital support would make them think twice about ground invasion.

Something he had read in one of those foundational reports did sing out to him and he hoped the young man would catch on.

Zakrem: Noise. Overwhelm them with noise and more information then they can handle. It could be setup in the ionosphere same as the transport inhibitors.

Moore: Response

Aitas: Also, General, I did receive a brief reply from our leadership. They are asking the UAW for the return of those of your people which the UAW took previously.

That was a good step, but a step was short of the marathon they needed to cover.

Zakrem: A start.

Byu’I’Vera/Moore: Response

Aitas: The UAW adopting our guise makes their actions against you feel more of a betrayal, to our people. We do not wish our reputation to bear their folly. But it also means they may find our voice kinder to their ears than your own.

An understatement. One that made the hard harsh notes louder in the background of the Song.

Zakrem: It is an unkindness that doesn’t sit well with any of us.

Byu’I’Vera/Moore: Response

Aitas: Chief, with the General's permission, please emphasize the Zumardi’s long history of trade with other worlds in the reply to the USS Kepler. ::She turned to Byu’I’vera:: It is unusual where most of our people have come from for such trade to exist without the pursuit of warp as well. I would ensure our leadership understands more fully your breadth of experience.

The plant dress wiggled and breathed as she moved.

Zakrem: Of course. However I think it should be noted at least as we stand here that my own species is not a member of the Federation. We are a diasporic group of nomads, which you understand of course.

Byu’I’Vera/Moore: Response

Zakrem: I was on the homeworld when the attack came to our people. I lived a situation very similar to your own right now, General. After..I drifted, wandered, ::half smiling:: lingered from there to the Alpha Quadrant and the Federation. I could have turned toward the pain, and anger. The Federation and its message though spoke to me. Just like your own people. Peaceful coexistence.

Aitas: Response?

Zakrem: The things this UAW is doing are a childlike imitation of a half memory. When your young ones mock your clothes because they want to be like you. You and your people are no galactic child. That is why we must show your age to the UAW and the other members of our crew by showing your trade partners and existing trade networks to them.

Byu’I’Vera/Moore: Response

Ilid moved over to the console again began listing off trade partners, including special emphasis on the mutual trade beneficial (and proffer of aid for the weapon specs) with the Vaadwaur. With the message sent he turned back to the General.

Zakrem: Can you take us to your central command so that we can start helping with those defense plans? If we can see the field more clearly we may be able to help you with your planning.

Moore/Byu’I’Vera/Aitas: Response?
