((Ops, Copernicus Center Level 1 - 0930 hours))

A mostly empty Ops was now bathed in red, with many Starfleet Officers heading to the exits to evacuate along with most of the rest of Amity.

Out through the window towards the shuttlebay, the only ship that wasn’t being prepped for leaving hastily was the Daintree. That had been left behind in case the skeleton crew had to leave Amity for whatever reason, if that was possible.

But their primary goal was to protect Amity so they could bring it back online once the storm passed.

The group of Lael, Char, Saavei, and Katio approached  Wil. He turned from one of the consoles that was monitoring the incoming storm, to address one of the three teams that would help protect the Outpost.

Rosek-Skyfire: Response

Ukinix: Hey Commander, team, I hope you got a good sleep. We’re in for a busy... however long that storm is going to take to pass.

Rosek-Skyfire/Vanlith/Saavei/Moore: Response

Ukinix: Okay. Initial analysis indicates that if we keep the lights on, Amity will fry, and at best it will take a year or so to repair. You don’t want to hear the worst case oO Amity becomes crap metal Oo. So, we need to shut down as much as we can.

Rosek-Skyfire/Vanlith/Saavei: Response

Ukinix: ::To Kaito:: But nor can we be defenceless or blind. Lieutenant Moore, we’re going to need your strategic brain. You’re going to have to negotiate with Ops and Engineering to work out the bare minimum of what we can keep active so we can respond to any threats. Consult with Science as well.

Moore: Response

Ukinix: Science are going to need sensors as long as they can to get as much information about the storm. ::To Lael:: Give them as long as you can before you start paring sensor systems back. ::To Char:: We might need some of your creativity on the fly to give them some form of sensor ability when the storm hits.

Rosek-Skyfire/Vanlith/Saavei: Response

Ukinix: Lael, we’re also going to shut down Ops-- ::gesturing around:: -- this Ops, and set up a temporary Operations where the skeleton crew that stays behind can monitor whatever we can as much as we can. Based on the current known profile of the storm, the computer picked the safest spot on Amity with minimal risk profile... somewhere specific in the habitat ring. ::slightly chewing bottom lip::

Moore: Response

Ukinix: Commander Hopper’s apartment. It’s a good thing she’s taking the Indy to Idrustix. No-one tell her ::taps side of nose:. Get a temporary Ops set up there.

Rosek-Skyfire: Response

Ukinix: The last of the evacuees are leaving, the Indy should be gone in less than three minutes. Do what you have to do to minimise our exposure to whatever’s going to hit us. Good luck, keep me posted.

Rosek-Skyfire/Vanlith/Saavei: Response

(OOC: Amity’s different systems will need to partially or fully go offline. What does and doesn’t is up to this team, with input from other teams where relevant!)

With that, Wil made his way out of Ops, tapping his combadge as he entered the elevator foyer.

He wondered how much longer he’d be able use his combadge for.

(OOC: These tags don’t have to be the start of your scene, you can start earlier than this before Wil crashes it)

Ukinix: =/\= Lieutenant Taelon, you picked a fun time to visit us. What’s the latest on the storm? =/\=

Taelon: =/\= Response =/\=

Ukinix: =/\= At some point soon you’re going to start losing sensors, one by one-- possibly faster. The more we know about the storm before it hits, the better. No pressure. =/\=

The elevator doors opened, and he stepped into the lift, which would take him to the Situation Room on Level 6.

Galanis/Varati: =/\= Response =/\=

Ukinix: =/\= I’ve told Ops to begin shutting down systems. Get as much information you can, so we can defend and protect ourselves. Ops will be setting up a temporary science facility in the habitat ring oO probably in Robin’s bedroom Oo. Good luck, Ukinix out. =/\=

The only noise for a moment was the hum of the elevator, and the exhaling of a stressed Commander Ukinix. He pinched the bridge of his nose and closed his eyes, taking a moment to breathe before the lift doors opened.

When they did, he took one more deep breath, before pacing toward the...

Iko/Orrey/Wong/Aitas: Response

(OOC: Same as above: These tags don’t have to be the start of your scene)

Ukinix: Hey gang. Status report?

Iko/Orrey/Wong/Aitas: Response

Ukinix: Have we got a treatment for the skeleton crew that will help once the storm hits?

Wong/Orrey: Response

Ukinix: Evacuations on schedule? Any stragglers?

Iko/Aitas: Response

Ukinix: I’ve notified the Shelby to stay away, they’re going to have to take a long route to Idrustix to avoid the storm. What else have we go to consider?

Iko/Orrey/Wong/Aitas: Response
