((Archer Train Station))
Iko: ::forced chuckle, beat:: Which... one are you again?
Ukinix(H): I’m the human one. ::Pointing at eyes:: Irises are the giveaway. Blue is human me. Black is Betazoid bloke.
The security officer casually nodded.
Iko: Good to know
As Bec spoke, the next train arrived.
Ukinix(H): Where are you off to?
Iko: Security centre.
Wil raised his eyebrows for a moment. The train they were about to get on was going on the “up” track. That is, towards Mezzanine. But to catch the train to the Security Center, that would require catching the train from the other side of the platform that
travelled along the “down” track.
Or maybe her decision was deliberate, maybe Bec wanted a coffee from the Brew Continuum first before heading to the Security Center. Regardless, Wil told Bec his destination.
Ukinix(H): Mezzanine. ::Gesturing:: After you.
Iko: Thanks...
He followed Bec onto the train. The doors closed behind him, and he chose to take a seat next to Bec. The gravlift train, designed with containment field redundancies to allow the train to still run if ever Amity suddenly had its artificial gravity systems
deactivate, began to smoothly pull away from the station – thanks in part to the inertial damping system.
As the train followed the line in between the Palais-Bourbon and Beijing districts, another train heading in the opposite direction on the second set of tracks whooshed by, itself heading on the “down” track for Archer station. On the opposite side of the
carriage above the windows
was a holographic purple line showing the route the train was on. It also showed the current position of the train as a dot, making its way towards its next stop - Terminal C.
Ukinix: Ah, crap. Wrong train. This is the long ride to Mezzanine via the terminals. ::Shrugging:: Oh, well.
Iko: ::quietly:: Whoops...
Ukinix(H): What’s been happening with you?
Iko: Oh, nothing much...
Ukinix(H): ::Squinting eyes, playful suspicious tone:: Are you sure.
Iko: ::palms up:: Everythings good, just about to go start Beta shift...
With a smirk, he looked at Bec out of the corner of his eye as he squinted. He may not have had empathic abilities any more, but he could tell something was up with his fellow Aussie.
Ukinix(H): C’arn, spill it.
Iko: I'm fine I swear! ::forced chuckle, forced smile::
Ukinix(H): Bec.
Iko: Response
Ukinix(H): Bec…
Iko: Response
Ukinix(H): Is this about the other day in the holodeck?
The train, now in the dark, was winding its way around the inside of the edge of Amity’s hull. For a moment, it sped past Peace Park station. Out of the opposite window of the train was brightness, followed by a blur of pink from the cherry blossom trees,
and then darkness again.
Iko: Response
Ukinix(H): ::Looking up at holographic map:: Well we’ve got four more stops to chat about it. And you know you can talk to me. What’s on your mind.
Iko: Response
