((Elevator, Down to Level 7, Copernicus Centre))
Ukinix: Well, that’s you off the hook, Santa. ::Tongue in cheek::
Robin’s brow furrowed.
Hopper: Wait… I’m Santa? ::Pointing to Wil:: You’re the one with the beard! If anything, I’m more like that reindeer friend of his, helping him sneak into all the kids’ houses– Woah, I think maybe Bec was right about him.
The doors opened, and sure enough, there stood Bec with bag in hand, to help Wil hand the next batch of ribbons.
Iko: You ready yet?
Hopper: Yeah… Yeah, I think I have some research to go do in the cultural database…
Ukinix: Timing, Bec. ::To Robin:: I’ll catchya later, Commander?
Hopper: Um, yeah. You betcha, Skipper.
Robin nodded to them both, then turned on her heels and made for the door, pulling her PADD out from under her arm and pulling up her access point to the UFP Cultural Database.
Iko: Enjoy PADDwork.
Hopper: Mhmm, thanks! ::Muttering, under her breath as she walked away:: He sees you when you’re sleeping? He knows when you’re awake?! …
((Starfleet Ops, Level 1, Copernicus Center - AFTERNOON SHIFT!))
Wil looked around, before spotting Commander Rosek-Skyfire and Ensign Saavei at a console at the far edge Ops. Lines of Amity’s various shuttles and scouts surrounded Ops at different distances through the windows.
Rosek-Skyfire/Saavei: Responses
Ukinix: ::playfully:: Hey Bec, look who I found! ::Gesturing to Lael and Saavei::
Bec smirked.
Iko: What are you two up to?
Rosek-Skyfire/Saavei: Responses
Ukinix: At ease, at ease.
Rosek-Skyfire/Saavei: Responses
Ukinix: Actually, you know what? ::Gesture of nod towards them:: At attention. ::Turning to everyone in Ops:: Can I have everyone’s attention please? ::Gesturing:: Gather round.
All of the crew who were either in discussions or at their consoles, stood up to gather around the officers.
Once they were all watching, Wil turned to the pair with a smile.
Ukinix: ::Addressing the crew:: We’re still recovering from that storm, but the fact that there was any recovery at all is thanks to the brave skeleton crew that remained behind, including the two officers that stand before you.
Bec gave the two a small applause.
He moved over to stand in front of Saavei first.
Ukinix: Ensign Saavei. You had to think fast on your feet when Commander Iko here was possessed by the life form, didn’t you.
Iko: Yeah, sorry ‘bout that.
Saavei: Response
Ukinix: Well, for that, you’re awarded the Excellence in Adaptability Ribbon. Fine work Ensign, congratulations. ::To Bec:: Commander?
Bec went digging through the “santa sack” and, after an embarrassing few seconds of searching, found the ribbon marked for Saavei. Hopefully it was the right one—after all, the Explorer’s ribbon that was going all ‘round had to be somewhere too.
She held the wooden box out for Sav.
Iko: Here you go!
Saavei: Response
Next, the CO took a deliberate and somewhat silly sideways step, so that he was facing Commander Rosek-Skyfire. A little pleased, amused smirk appeared on his face, and many of the gathered crew gave out a little chuckle or murmured a little.
Bec was wise enough to go hunting before Wil spoke.
Rosek-Skyfire: Response
Ukinix: Commander Rosek-Skyfire. Along with carrying your two twins, who we’re all excited to meet by the way, you helped carry the skeleton crew as we would expect of an experienced senior officer such as yourself. And while we were in Hopper’s apartment, aka temporary ops, you had the idea of leading the digital version of the life form, yes you heard that right, to the quarantine areas of Amity’s systems.
Rosek-Skyfire: Response
Ukinix: For that, you receive the Innovation Ribbon. As well as the Explorer’s Ribbon with Saavei and the rest of the crew. Congratulations, Lael.
The boxes were handed over in a slightly more “professional” fashion. Maybe Bec was just overthinking the job.
Iko: You did good. You both did good.
Rosek-Skyfire: Response
Saavei: Response
Ukinix: At ease, both of you. ::Turning to crew:: Let’s congratulate these two fine Starfleet officers.
The crew applauded, and Wil then stood back and joined them, proud as punch of both of them.
Rosek-Skyfire: Response
Saavei: Response
Bec smiled to the room, slightly cheekily.
Iko: As you were.
((Cherry Blossoms biome, Peace Park))
The pair found Jansen and Ikaia in the Community Services Building.
Ukinix: Hey you two. What’s got you here? Not interrupting your yoga class are we?
Wong/Orrey: Response
Iko: I’d better hope not.
Ukinix: Well, Santa-Iko has a present for the both of you.
Wil gestured to the bag that Bec held.
Bec lifted it up to also gesture.
Iko: oO Yeah, somewhere in here… Oo
Wong/Orrey: Response
Ukinix: Both of you were exemplary in rushing to treat Lieutenant Vanlith, under very trying circumstances to say the least. Jansen, that was quick thinking on your feet to use your apartment as a treatment space.
Wong/Orrey: Response
Ukinix: That’s why you’ve both been awarded the Silver Lifesaving ribbon. We would be lost without Lieutenant Vanlith, and you made sure that didn’t happen. Congratulations. Bec, can you do the honours?
She began giving out the ribbons, almost handing Orrey the one marked “Wong” and Wong the one marked “Orrey”. But she didn’t, crossing her hands over at the last minute.
Iko: One for you and one for you.
Wong/Orrey: Response
Ukinix: And Commander Orrey you’ve also been awarded the Captain’s Commendation for pivoting to take charge of the situation so quickly. Congrats, Jansen.
Orrey: Response
Bec rummaged around in the now almost empty bag for it.
Iko: That one is… here!
She said, holding the box above her head before immediately lowering her hand and rather sheepishly handing the ribbon to the doctor with a slightly awkward smile.
Orrey/Wong: Response
Ukinix: Char and Kaito are last on our list. We’re going to see them now.
Orrey/Wong: Response
((Medical Centre, Amity Outpost))
Before entering her room, Wil took a deep breath, then cast a glance towards Bec.
Iko: I feel bad I haven't popped by earlier.
Ukinix: She’s going through so much.
He let his shoulders lift as he took in a breath, then sighed, letting his shoulders drop as he stared at the door to Char’s room.
Ukinix: I just hope she’s up for ::gesturing to bag:: this.
She held it out to him.
Iko: You wanna give out this one?
Wil sucked his bottom lip into his mouth, before pressing the door chime. When it opened and saw Char, a warm smile appeared on his face as he entered the room.
Ukinix: Hey Char. G’day Kaito.
Vanlith/Moore: Response
Ukinix: ::To Char:: How are you holding up? Mind if we come in for a second?
Vanlith: Response
Bec held her hands up.
Iko: Promise, no “get well soon” cards.
She tilted her head towards Kaito.
Iko: Or stealing this bloke away.
Moore: Response
Ukinix: Well, we’ve just been making the rounds today to all of the crew that were here during the storm.
He turned to Kaito first.
Ukinix: Lieutenant Moore. You got Lieutenant Vanlith to Orrey’s apartment in a move that saved Char’s life. For this, you’ve been awarded the Silver Lifesaving Ribbon. You’ve also been awarded the Captain’s Commendation for the same act. Well done, and thank you, Lieutenant.
Moore: Response
Vanlith/Iko: Response
With the ribbons in her hand, Bec gestured him forward.
Iko: C’m'ere.
Wil stood back and watched as Bec affixed the Ribbons onto Moore’s clothes. After that was done, he turned to Char and gave her a warm if not a little awkward smile.
Ukinix: Char, I’m… I don’t have the words to express how thankful we are that you performed such a selfless act to help save Amity during the storm. The cost to you is enormous, and I hope this episode makes you stronger in the long run. In fact, I know it will, I’ve known how resilient you are since our Veritas days.
Vanlith: Response
Ukinix: For obvious reasons, Lieutenant Vanlith, you’ve been awarded a Purple Heart, and it’s an honour for me to award this to you, Char. ::To Bec:: Lieutenant, can I have the box please? I’d like to hand out this one.
The last box in the bag was handed over.
Wil offered a semi-sombre smile, before pinning the ribbon just below her shoulder.
Ukinix: Normally I’d say congratulations, but I think “thank you” is more appropriate. And you have Starfleet resources at your disposal for your recovery.
Bec gave a small smile to them both.
Vanlith: Response
Moore: Response
Ukinix: ::Gesturing to Bec:: In that bag I have something else special for you.
Wil gave a nod towards Bec, gesturing for her to pull out the big wooden box. He opened it, and offered it to Char. Inside in velvet sat a metallic drink bottle, emblazoned with the Starfleet Delta, with “Amity Outpost” printed underneath.
Bec furrowed her brow ever so slightly. It was… a drink bottle?
Ukinix: And um… Baxter’s not around is he? Because… This is the latest and greatest design in portable drink containers from Starfleet research. It has its own energy source to keep the contents of the drink cold for twelve months, and it’s got a built-in basic tricorder and that Delta can act as a commbadge.
Ohh. It was a *fancy* drink bottle.
Iko: Truly an Engineering marvel.
She was half saying the truth, half poking slight fun at the two.
Vanlith/Moore: Response.
Ukinix: Oh, and I filled it with Risian Mai-Tai for you. It’s tradition after all, yeah?
Vanlith/Moore: Response.
(OOC: Happy to backsim in this last ribbons scene!)
