Robin had taken a brief step aside from the work of converting the quantum shielding within the Starfleet lab into a makeshift temporal shield to provide Rivi with an update. She wasn’t sure what the right next move would be if they were, in fact, able to determine who had taken Wil and the others – though of course, she had her own ideas.

Hopper: =/\= Lieutenant Hopper to Rivi Vataix. How are you making out up there, Rivi? =/\=

Vataix: =/\= Response =/\=

Hopper: =/\= Yeah… Yeah, I’m still adapting. There’s a lot to take in. But it helps being focused.  ::Recalling the reason for her hail::  Which reminds me! We may have some answers, though we’re still trying to wrap our heads around exactly which questions they’re answering. But we did find evidence of some sort of chronokinetic event near your home which could lead us to Wil – um, Commander Ukinix – and the others. =/\=

As she spoke, she unconsciously began twirling a lock of hair around her finger as she looked at herself reflected in the glass door of the lab. It occurred to her that the reason she was ‘spared’ from the changes must have been her proximity to the incident. She had stayed late at the Vataix household to help tidy up… and to try and find her boot…

((Flashback – Previous Night))

Rivi had gone up to bed a minute earlier, Robin given leave to keep searching as long as she wanted – or at least while Tidrid was still getting a red wine stain out of the carpet on the other side of the house. But she was growing tired as well. Even the short walk home was beginning to feel like a burden. She sighed, carrying her one boot over towards the door and setting it beside the entrance – so at least she’d be able to locate it in the morning.

As she opened the door, she turned around and smiled at the scene. It had certainly been quite the party. She hoped Commander Ukinix had enjoyed himself. Dimming the lights, she turned and stepped out of the door, taking in the cooler external air for a moment. As she shut her eyes and took a few deep breaths (which then turned into a yawn), she missed the slight visual distortion that flashed, like a bubble, around – and through – the Vataix household.

((End Flashback))

Decisions she had only made because she lived so close. It was a remarkably thin chain of events that had led her to be in the ‘right place’ at the ‘right time’.

Vataix: =/\= Response =/\=

Hopper: =/\= We’re in the SRC now. Creating a sort of ‘safe zone’ to work in, without worrying about temporal backdraft (so to speak). If you want, you’re welcome to join us – along with any of the other senior officers. But if you’re finding yourself needed elsewhere… =/\=

Vataix: =/\= Response =/\=

Hopper: =/\= Got it. We’ll keep working on it. With luck, we’ll soon have some idea who our “Timenappers” are – or at least when and where they are. From there, we’ll have to figure out the next course of action… Something to start thinking about now, I guess. =/\=

Vataix: =/\= Response =/\=

With that worked out, she turned her attention once more back to her colleagues. At a glance, it looked like Nadeshiko and Scotty had nearly completed the remaining work. Converting the shielding hadn’t been too arduous, given their combined expertise. And, with it completed, they’d be one step ahead in their mission to undo the damage that had been done.

Hopper: Status report? Any complications we need to keep in mind?

Nadeshiko/Reade: Response

Hopper: Good work. With luck, this modified shielding should prevent anyone from another time from taking any ‘direct action’ against us, here and now… Though it’ll just be a temporary measure.  ::Shrugging::  We’ll need to work quickly then. Fortunately, the labs on Amity were still upgraded with its Delta Quadrant launch. The new advanced holo-modeling suite should help us visualize the data we gathered earlier and make some determinations about it.

Robin gestured for the others to join her at the lab’s central console. Holographic images depicting key data appeared around them, creating a sort of ‘three-dimensional model’ of the ‘four-dimensional’ problem.

Nadeshiko/Reade: Response

Hopper: Nadeshiko, we’ve figured out when our Timenappers made their move. But are we any closer to locking in precisely ‘how’ it was done? Or where they were taken?

Nadeshiko: Response

Hopper: I understand such a feat would require extremely advanced technology.  ::A look to Reade::  Is there any chance we can reproduce even a fraction of that capability here on Amity? We may need a way to ‘bring them back’ – or at least try to get a message through to them. I’m open to experimental ideas here.

Reade: Response

Hopper: ::Nodding::  Let’s hop to it!

Nadeshiko/Reade: Responses

((OOC – If Rivi and/or any of the other Amity crew want to join this group in the SRC, this is a good time to do so. Feel free to insert yourself here!))
