(( Barossa Sector, Amity Outpost, Mezzanine ))

The ground rushed up to meet him. He didn't mind. Suddenly it seemed, he was in another place, one that was warm and peaceful, full of cotton and bubbles. He didn't even particularly notice when a strong Orion woman caught him by the front of his shirt and stopped his faceplant mid-splat.

Gezlinn: Woah there spaceman. Easy now.

The light formed rainbow spectrums in her eyes, and a strange glow seemed to surround her. To Jaxon she seemed to emanate peace and calm, to everyone else who noticed, she merely looked shocked and disgruntled.

oO   I might look gruntled I think,  or maybe I got drugnked… Oo

Fargo passed out, there on the ground of the mezzanine, in the arms of a very irate looking, young Orion woman. Roughly thirteen minutes into his first professional shore leave… Oddly, it was a fact that he would later choose to omit from his personal log.

He awoke some time later in a nondescript rented room.  His uniform sprawled across the furniture and his most certainly nude body barely beneath the bed sheets. His head felt as if a pack of targs had been cage matched against a sehlat, with his skull as the cage. Light and sound were very hostile at the moment.

He gazed about trying to remember how he got there. The room was not very modern, nor very clean.  It smelled like turpentine and blueberries for some reason.

oO I don't even remember getting to Amity, if that's where I even am. Oo

He heard sounds in the bathroom and turned his head as a tall and slender Orion woman emerged through the door.

Gezlinn: Ah, you are awake. Are all of your species so unable to hold their liquor?

Fargo: Huh? I didn't- ...I don't drink. ::He rubbed his eyes blearily.:: And who the heck are you?!?

Gezlinn: ::With a throaty laugh.:: I am Gezlinn and that is the only name you need to know. Beyond that, all you need to know is that if you report any of this to Security and you will not survive the day.

Fargo had thought his mind was starting to clear until he heard the words report and survive. He stopped thinking anything was clear after that.

Fargo: Wait, what? Where my latinum go?  Why I have anything to do you? Hasperat?

The words were coming out strangely. He was not fully awake yet, and the anxiety made his tongue tangle dumbly.

Gezlinn: As I do not have the time nor the inclination to play obtuse I will lay it out straight for you. You have been set up. The food you ate was drugged and poisoned. The poison is inert unless activated by a device that my partner wears, and trust me, he will most certainly have someone watching you for the rest of your stay.

Gezlinn: Anyways, what is there to report really?  Everyone on the mezzanine saw me rescue a "drunk" starfleet ensign who had "passed out" while on shore leave. I was merely the woman who saved you. Is it my fault that you lost a few strips of latinum, your pride and your memory?

Mind still fuzzy, Fargo wanted to say yes, but couldn't quite bring the logic of it into speech. In fact, the only thing that was coming into focus was a strange queasiness permeating outward from his bowels.

oO I sick am think gonn- Oo

He almost made it out of the bed before losing the contents of his stomach in a graceless and churning heave.

oO The expression on her face almost made that worth it… Oo

With a disgusted look, the Orion woman whirled to exit, pausing only to throw his uniform over the unsightly puddle.

She left without another word, leaving him drugged, sick, and currency-less with only a freshly soiled uniform, and no way to report back to his ship without a reprimand at the very least.

oO Join Starfleet…. It'll be fun… Oo

He made his way to the intercom, moving with impossible slowness. Waves of unease pulsing through him again.

He fumbled at the intercom controls.

Fargo: This is Ensign Fargo requesting a medical team… immediately ::He gulped down a belch.:: please …

He found a bit of solace a moment later, when he mercifully slid down the wall and back onto the floor where he thankfully lost consciousness once more.
