Layla chuckled slightly.
Nevark: My own fault because I have been focused on getting my space set up right and then the Uwezo Mission and then a few appointments. I just need to make sure I make the time to have friends here. What about you? I assume you have friends here?
Layla wanted to scream at asking him a question like that. Was it really that hard to turn off the work brain with new people? Maybe this was what she was missing, just being able to stop working for a moment and enjoy her time. It was moments like this that she missed Tyler, Tyler got her out of her head and maybe that is what she needed right now. Not that she wanted a relationship until she had figured herself out but a friend at the very least would be nice.
Moore: Yeah, of course. ::He chuckled a little:: At least I hope they are my friends. Granted, if I wanted to dive into my fears and anxiety of friendship, I might need to book an appointment… and I feel like it would be a fairly boring appointment. I’ve got much more interesting psychological worries.
He gave her a wink, and then chuckled although for Layla she immediately wondered if she needed to prioritise an appointment after that but immediately shook the thought away.
Moore: But I do, and I’m sure you’ll find it will be easy to get them too.
Nevark: Sorry it’s just very different here from what I have done before. It’s taking some adjusting, including apparently how I speak to people. Can I start again? ::taking a breath:: Hi I am Layla the new counselor, it's lovely to meet you.
Moore: Hello, Layla, I’m Kaito, and it is pleasant to meet you too.
Nevark: So you said you’re on patrol, am I keeping you?
Moore: I’m currently on lunch break, and I was going to head over to the Blue Gums to grill up some food. You did say you needed to find time to have friends. Are you busy right now?
She smiled, relieved to hear that and wondering if maybe she was about to make a friend here.
Nevark: No I’m not.
Moore: Friendship has to start somewhere—how about over grilled vegetables and replicated wagyu?
Nevark: That actually sounds really nice. Lead the way?
Moore: Response.
Layla pulled her shoes back on and walked in step with Kaito as he led the way.
Nevark: So security? Any particular reason for that?
Moore: Response
Layla groaned.
Nevark: I’m sorry I swear I am not trying to be a counsellor right now. Apparently its kinda hard to not sound like one right now.
Moore: Response.
