Rosek-Skyfire: ::pauses:: I can certainly work with Engineering to run some simulations–see which pulse specs would most likely open a corridor.

Bec nodded—a gesture that essentially said “yes, go do that.”

Iko: Has this piece of space—where the scouts are looking—been depolarised or have a sort of… shadow/signature thing?

Varati: Based on what we can gather from here so far, there's no indication of that. But that doesn't mean anything. The scouts are well-equipped and can conduct more detailed scans on site. That would be my suggestion…

They were waiting on data. Bec tried to not roll her eyes. It felt like they were running around in circles. Or at least, that they weren’t getting anywhere.

Bec handed the PADD over to Skyfire.

Iko: And is that alright for an opening?

Rosek-Skyfire: ::pauses:: Maybe be a little more specific on what they should be looking for. But I don’t think we quite know ourselves yet. We’ll need to do a touch more digging before we send it off.

Again, Bec tried not to roll her eyes in the frustration that was gradually growing.

Varati: In principle, yes. The "crease" is proof that the space was somehow warped there. But maybe...

Bec turned to D’Cyra.

Iko: Maybe what?

Rosek-Skyfire: ::arches an eyebrow:: Please share with the class, Ensign.

Varati: Two theories off the top of my head: Firstly, besides the corridors, there were also underground chambers where the Vaadwaur hid. Nobody knows how many chambers there actually were or whether they were all destroyed back then – so it's quite possible that one of these neglected chambers collapsed here, and what its contents might be.

Bec furrowed her brow, trying to make sense of the theory.

Varati: And number two: This "crease" is definitely evidence of something we weren't supposed to see or find. But: someone familiar with the corridors and chambers certainly wouldn't leave such marks, right? And the rescue pod couldn't have caused such a large distortion. So, whoever was responsible must have been in quite a hurry if they couldn't "clean up" anymore... Perhaps the pod got in the way?

Rosek-Skyfire: ::brow furrows:: That makes sense, yes.

Bec stayed quiet, still trying to figure it out in her head. She fumbled around on her console, hoping that would help and that she’d be able to find something.

Admittedly thus far that hadn’t been very successful.

Varati: I know, I know, these are all pretty far-fetched ideas... but we haven't heard anything about these corridors for over 25 years. So we shouldn't rule out the possibility that Turei or Vaadwaur or someone else might be flying through the sector somewhere – possibly with a cloaking device. We should definitely let the other teams know. ::to Bec:: Otherwise, we'll have to put in some more overtime at the Armory again!

Cloak?

Last they’d checked no-one but maybe that Klingon colony Bec’d been meaning to go visit had a cloak. Then again, last they’d checked was about twenty-five years ago.

Rosek-Skyfire: ::pauses:: That I know of, there aren’t any species in the Delta Quadrant that have access to cloaking technology. I think whoever this is has been using subspace to hide from our sensors. It’s either that or a combination of subspace and some kind of technology that obscures their engine trails.

Iko: Subspace emits tetryon radiation, though we haven’t found anything from trying to scan that yet. Cloaks are tachyons and chronitons… I’m not picking up any of those.

Varati: Responses

Rosek-Skyfire: These developments are very concerning, especially given the proximity to Amity itself.

Varati: Responses

In her hunt for information, Bec had kept scanning.

Iko: I think I am picking up comms chatter. From the Miombo to… someone else. ::looking up:: Not Starfleet.

Rosek-Skyfire: I’m not sure what it means, but we need to work quickly.

Bec gave a firm nod to the obvious. She kept trying to see what sort of ship the Miombo was talking to, piggy-backing off of the data coming in from the two scouts.

Rosek-Skyfire/Varati: Response

Iko: D’Cyra, Robin’s team has found something, and it kind of matches readings from this ship the others are talking to. A… I dunno… lazy tetryon or tachyon particle?

Rosek-Skyfire/Varati: Response

Iko: Can we use that as a start?

Rosek-Skyfire/Varati: Response

Bec plugged in a scan for what the scouts had found to see where else it could be found in the Nebula.

There were a lot of different places. Some had very faint readings, and she doubted all of them were actually entrances to Underspace, but that didn't mean that Bec didn't see the generated potential map and say:

Iko: Ohh &#@%.

Rosek-Skyfire/Varati: Response
