Nadeshiko quietly looked out the window as the passenger ship neared the Nuriootpa solar nebula. The nebula isn't very unusual, as solar nebulas go, but it produced benamite crystals, causing puzzlement to many scientists in the Daystrom Institute. The young woman, dressed in what was considered the latest neo-cyber goth fashion in Japan, complete with completely unnecessary holographic emitters sewn into her dress to provide red lighting and shading color light diffusion, ignored the looks at her attire, and her hair, black until it brightened to red and violet, with faded red ties in her shoulder length hair.

No one generally dressed like that off planet, anyway. Well, not that a brief search of databases and an analysis on clothing trends had told her. Really, she should have dressed to fit in, but.. Nadeshiko had very little control of what she did, or where she went, and she liked looking like this. Dark makeup and all.

As the ship came to dock, she returned to her room to make sure it was packed up for transport. Site-to-site transporters were a feature of modern life for cargo, even if she had no idea where she would be in 12 hours. In truth, though, she had only one other outfit, a PADD, and nothing else. She didn't need much of anything else, and she hadn't gotten any mementos from the Institute when she left.

She had a momentary issue getting onboard - the intake officer had wanted to object, but she had presented her orders, and after that, had had little problems making her way in. After all, she had studied Amity's schematics and memorized them, and she had been gratified to note her appearance was unique.  As she rode the elevator up, she considered that the Ambassador's office being on top of a skyscraper in the middle of a lightly-armed space station spoke to the seemingly common need for all leaders to be where they could be above everyone - a position of power, even if it was a likely completely not-reason. Tactically, secured -at level- or within the substrata of the station was always preferred for security reasons. However, having them hide would likely incur both performance and morale hits. And given the research she performed, it was almost certainly the actual reason.. probably. The significance was high.

.oO And if it's one thing I've learnt, it's that humans do not like being 'perceived' to be in an enclosed space for too long, in the main. Oo.,an attitude Nadeshiko found herself in full agreement with as she strode out with a few diplomatic personnel, giving the seemingly very young woman looks when they thought she couldn't see them. Regardless, she had orders to present herself as soon as possible.

Civilian she may be, Starfleet still controlled a lot about her destiny, and too much of her core directives demanded she obey any legal order of Starfleet Command. And she wasn't ever sure she'd want to, let alone be able to, remove them. If she threw even that away, who would she be then?

It took only a few minutes for their business to complete, and she entered the office. Her face rather smoothly (and blankly) polite, she stood in front of the desk.

Nadeshiko: Nadeshiko, civilian analyst, reporting for duty. ::Nadeshiko extended her PADD. She had a storage cube on her for her stuff until she could set up new panels and holoemitters for her use, so the PADD was entirely useless.::

Vataix: Response

Nadeshiko considered it for a fraction of a second, then, completely seriously.

Nadeshiko: I requested this posting as it is currently the furthest posting from Earth accepting civilian candidates.
