Ikaia had begun to fix himself some Vulcan spiced tea. He wasn’t entirely sure what it was. But these days, he’s been finding himself having a craving for it in the evenings. But just the evenings. He preferred it with just a drop of honey to add some sweetness to that spice. He found that a delicious combination. With tea in hand, he sat down on his couch and was about to take a drink from it when his commbadge chirped at him. Quickly, he smacked it with his hands (and without spilling his tea this time!)
Richards: =/\= Richards to Wong. =/\=
Wong: =/\= Aloha! What’s up Ens—- I mean Nathan. It’s Nathan. =/\=
The Klingon had been so used to being formal with just about everyone in most occasions, that a drop in formalities felt a little strange to him. Then again, Keehani had to pretty much beat the formalities out of him when it came to her. Richards was the only other person other than Keehani to make that attempt.
Richards: =/\= I was curious if you had any plans this evening? =/\=
Wong: =/\= Uhhhh…. =/\=
Ikaia glanced at the cup in his hands.
Wong: =/\=Drinking tea….?=/\=
Richards: =/\= Well, I’m still sitting on a reservation to the Lighthouse that I was thinking about cashing in. And I wanted a chance to talk and get to know you a little better. What do you say? =/\=
Well Ikaia was glad he wasn’t drinking that tea. Otherwise, he would have spat it out on his lap right now. He was surprised by Richards request.
Wong: =/\=You want me to join you? Ah er sure! I can do that. Just give me some time to get ready and I’ll meet you there.=/\=
Richards: =/\= Perfect. I’ll see you then. =/\=
Well he knew that he couldn’t just wear his uniform and his lab coat to The Lighthouse. However, there was that really nice outfit that Vataix had bought for him that one time for his talk back at the Expo. (Ikaia really didn’t want to think back on that Expo!) He figured that would be okay for him to wear something as upscale to The Lighthouse that wasn’t dress whites. Or at least he was sure that’s how fashion worked. Either way, he was certain he had something. It was time for him to get ready and head out.

Ikaia took a few moments to straighten himself out in the turbolift. This was indeed short notice. But he had at least managed to pull himself together for a night out. As soon as he stepped out of the turbolift, he was met face to face with Richards.
Richards: Hey there, Doc. I’m glad you could join me on such short notice.
Wong: No problem. Thanks for the invite! I haven’t been up here for a while.
Richards: Response.
Wong: Well, shall we go find our seats?
Richards: Response.
Of course, the last time Ikaia was here, he had been called “Icky Wing” by the bouncer. It was with Keehani’s help that he was able to get access to the NYE party that night. Fortunately this time, the bouncer didn’t seem to give him any trouble this time. They were able to get in and safely seated. Ikaia had sat down across from Richards.
Wong: I’ve heard they grill a good steak here! Ahh…. unless steaks aren’t your thing.
Richards: Response.
Wong: Well, what did you want to do? I mean we could just have a water and eat some of the bread sticks until we make up our minds.
Richards: Response.
Ikaia chuckled a little.
Wong: Back when I was at the Academy, I was surrounded by Vulcans and I had to learn how to eat things without using my hands in order to be polite around them. That included bread sticks! It ah… takes a lot of patience to do that one.
Richards: Response.
