Seleya: Any of the appetizers catching your eye. The Talaxian mixed herb cream dip with domph bread looks good, but I'm not sure how you feel about spicy.
Varati: I have no idea... oh well, whatever - I'll let myself be surprised! Either it tastes good, or it doesn't. Let's try your suggestion. We can tell the server that we don't need the most intense version. … And for the main course? Oh, we'll see. Ultimately, this should be a relaxed meal, not a scientific discussion.
Seleya: We can do that. ::she smiled and nodded:: So tell me, D’Cyra, got any hobbies or interests?
Seleya set the menu down, having decided what she wanted. She placed her elbows on the table, and folded her hands together, resting her chin on the back of her hands as she focused on D’Cyra.
Varati: I've been trying to do yoga for ages. Will I ever manage it...?
Varati: Otherwise, my hobbies and work are currently a mix: tinkering with and testing scientific drones, as well as our communication equipment.
I think I'm taking good care of my plants, I'm building a classic coffee machine with Saavei, and I'm increasingly trying my hand at cooking.
I'd love to fly to Idrustix or Uwe II more often to spend leisure time in the forests and especially in the thermal springs. ::pauses:: And you? How do you spend your free time, as a secret agent?
Seleya: Exercise mostly. Yoga is one of them, various martial arts, hand to hand, bladed weapons, and modern weapons of course. Then I do some reading. I prefer physical books to the PADD. Then some metal working and I enjoy board games.
Varati: Okay, I wouldn't have expected that. But as they say: still waters run deep…
Seleya tilted her head, she wasn’t sure if she had heard that saying before. She assumed Varati meant well by it. Besides, Seleya was too distracted by Varati as she leaned back. Seleya’s eyes briefly glanced down to Vyrati’s neck, then back up to meet Varati’s gaze unashamedly.
Ramixia (Talaxian hostess): So my dears, here’s your aperitif and a little welcome from the kitchen to whet your appetite for the meal. ::arranges everything on the table:: Have you already decided what you would like the kitchen to prepare for you?
Varati: ::to Ramixia:: I think we wanted the Talaxian mixed herb cream dip with domph bread as a starter for the two of us and the Luhvian quail with roasted chadre'kab as a main course. But I'd prefer it mildly spiced. And you, Seleya?
It was only then Seleya broke her gaze on Varati, to turn to their waitress to place her order.
Seleya: ::to Ramixia:: I was going to have the roasted Chadre’kab as well, but I am fine with medium spicy. But just that. Thank you very much.
Ramixia: Of course, I will put those orders in right now.
Once the waitress had left Seleya took the strange bottle she assumed was the aperitif, pouring Varati a glass first and then herself, and then poured the water for the both of them.
Varati: Response
Seleya: So what is Orion cuisine like? Should I ever get the chance to try some, what would you recommend?
Varati: Response
Seleya: That sounds rather delightful. Do you cook these dishes yourself sometimes? I am guessing you have to use replicated ingredients. I could imagine having them brought out to the Delta Quadrant is rather tricky.
If Seleya had been staying she may have asked Varati to cook her dinner sometime. She was always interested in trying another species' cuisine.
