(( Quarters 1418 - Deck 3 - USS Artemis-A ))
Bergmen: So, size of the shuttle? For how many?
Storm: Shuttle size is irrelevant. There will be three of us, and we’re going to Betazed.
Ollie nodded and began filling out the form.
Bergmen: Ok, so not Argo nor Runboat. Yes, Griffin is free, so I reserve that one. ::glance at Storm:: You can take another and start filling another form… things will be quicker, you know. And you can ask if there is something you do not know or do not understand…
The tactical officer appeared restless, sitting on the edge of her chair.
Storm: We’re going for my father-in-law’s funeral. I haven’t seen my husband or daughter in two years. If I don’t get there soon, I’m afraid I’ll miss them..
Ollie continued nodding, his eyes fixed to the PADD screen, and columns of form he was filling, not watching Alex. And she fell silent, which he took as confirmation she will take her part of forms to fill… but quickly he found he was deeply mistaken.
Storm: Lieutenant.
The address snapped him out of his working trance, and he looked from the screen to Lieutenant Storm's face.
Storm: Lieutenant, I need to go. Could you… would you help me. Is there any way that you can fill these out for me? Ask me any questions you need to.
Bergmen's face took on the look of a slightly kicked puppy. He needed to go as well. He had life now, too.
Storm: I don’t want to miss my daughter.
And Ollie doesn’t want to miss his time with his boyfriend.
Bergmen: It would be really quicker if you filled some of them yourself while I cover others, Lieutenant.
Storm: You’ve done this before. Not only haven’t I, but my mind is on ten different things already that I need to get done before I leave - let alone things that need done on my way. Every minute matters.
Alex reached out and gently placed her hand on the armrest of his chair.
Storm: Please, Lieutenant.
He sighed. Lowered his shoulders in surrender, realizing he should just set some boundaries for himself and not let others take advantage of him. Next time.
Bergmen: Okay, Lieutenant. I will do them all. Just once they are done, please send them to the OPS Center, ok?
Ollie set the PADD he was holding down because it was essentially done and picked up a new one.
Bergmen: You said you are flying to your family's funeral. May I guess you are flying to Betazed? Do you plan to just fly there and back, or use the shuttle for more travel? I ask to check the dilithium reserves in the record and whether any refueling will be needed before you take off.
Storm: Response
Bergmen: Okay, any specific equipment you would need and then required during your use of the shuttle? Or modifications like an aquashuttle?
Storm: Response
Bergmen nodded and set the PADD down as completed.
Bergmen: Good, that’s all for this PADD. ::takes the next one:: Any cargo planned? During the travel to your destination or during the return?
Storm: Response
