(( Launch Bay - Afalqi Project Launch Control - Meranuge IV ))

Breys was rifling through every inch of her time at the academy searching for a possible explanation, but this time the idea didn’t come from there, it was hidden in the prep work given for her commission to the Artemis itself. She had read up on the systems information of the major players in the Borderlands with the hopes of not looking like a fool if she ever had to access their computers.

Breys: The Klingons are known to use encryption at the quantum level,  but all that means for certain is some data on this rod passed through a Klingon computer at a point, or maybe just a computer someone bought from the Klingons.

Silveira arched an eyebrow at her.

oO Did I just say Klingon too much? Oo

Silveira: Circumstantial at best. What do you think Captain?

Just then the chirp of a commbadge cut them off.

Munro: =/\= Commander Munro to Captain MacKenzie=/\=

MacKenzie: =/\= Go ahead, Commander. =/\=

Munro: =/\= The hangar’s been destroyed, while we were trying to locate a jamming device we appear to have triggered some kind of booby trap. I think it would be safe to assume that there may be other traps =/\=

Whoever planned this seemed to have left a lot of trouble behind for them.

MacKenzie: =/\= What's the status of your team? =/\=

This was always the question D’tin held her breath for.

Munro: =/\= Everyone seems okay, Roy is checking them over now. I might have the location of the jamming device and :: pauses and looks at Imril :: Lt. Imril retrieved some information from the hangar files =/\=

MacKenzie: =/\= See what else you can uncover, but watch your step. =/\=

Munro: =/\= Understood, Captain. Munro out. =/\=

The Captain looked to Silveira.

MacKenzie: Complications.

Silveira: Of the worst kind.

Breys: Hopefully they didn’t have any time to leave problems behind for us here.

Mackenzie pointed to the console they were working on.

MacKenzie: Whatever we do, we should do it methodically... We don't want to risk any possible corruption of the files, in case someone sabotaged these as well.

Silveira: If you find anything suspicious or some link that doesn’t belong there don’t follow it Ensign.

Breys: Alright, I’ll tag anything suspicious, but I won’t dig into it yet.

Silveira  took out his own tricorder and began to change its settings.

Silveira: Captain, do you think we should sweep the place for explosives?

For a moment, D’tin was on the same page.

Breys: I can reconfigure my tricorder to look for any residue that may be left from them being planted. With the accident at the hangar this place could go off any minute.

MacKenzie: Response

It seemed to work, the guard that was watching them quickly scuttled to a control panel and buried themself in a deep scan of the launch bay. The team wasn’t going to be bothered any time soon.

Silveira: I believe the Da’al will do that work for us now.

Breys couldn’t help but smile.

MacKenzie: Response

Silveira also cracked a grin, and then gestured towards the console next to Breys.

Silveira: I am so tempted to access one of their consoles…

Breys: I think we could gain a lot if we could find out more about what all this equipment is for.

MacKenzie: Response

Breys: Just an idea, sirs, but could Lt. Commander Silveira try to recover the logs for this station’s readout from the last set of tests?

MacKenzie/Silveira: Response

Breys: We could cross reference it against any shared data on the rod I’m analyzing now, most of the data will be censored but if what we can access doesn’t line up with what is on the rod, we know someone is lying to us.

MacKenzie/Silveira: Response

Breys: Alright, when you’re ready.

MacKenzie/Silveira: Response

As she began to drone off numbers from her data sheet, there were occasional small variances, the kind of things that were acceptable when so much information was flowing. Then there was something strange. A number off by so much it didn’t make sense to be on a ship datasheet at all.

Breys: What was that again?

Silveira: Response

Breys: My readout is a tenth of that, what does the sheet label that cell as?

MacKenzie/Silveira: Response
