Paper for Tuesday March 22

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are having a relaxing spring break or at least staying dry! Next week we'll be discussing "Synthesis of Methyl Halides from Biomass Using Engineered Microbes" by Bayer et. al. (JACS 2009, 131(18):6508-6515). In reading the paper pay more attention to the novel methods--synthetic metagenomics and symbiotic co-culture--than the chemistry.
